This is just me, but I think Doc is phony when it comes to defense. I think it's just something that happened because KG came here and joined Perk and Tony Allen. Then it was cool so Rondo and Pierce joined in. I give the credit to Thibs and maybe a little to Clifford Ray.

Besides his absurd comment that you practice defense when you practice offense I think it's pretty clear Doc doesn't really care about defense.

For example. Was Glen Davis a good defender? He was a fat Toine. Doc kept giving him minutes. Lots and lots of minutes.

Who's the better defender?  Avery Bradley or Keyon Dooling? Seeing Keyon out there is sorta a slap in the face to telling young players they have to defend.

Where's Tony Allen? Oh, he's not here any more.

Where's Perk? Oh he's not here either.

We have a former Big Ten DPOY on the bench who produces every time he touches the floor. So instead JON was out there getting torched.

Steams gets no time. He could get SOME time.  Pietrus is a better defender than Ray. But he let's Ray stay in even when Ray's shot is wwaaayyyyy off. News flash Doc. If Ray shoots 15 times he'll make 3 3s. Doesn't mean anything. Pietrus can probably do that too. Rondo and Avery probably can too. Most of us can.

I think Doc has been told to tank or something. Something isn't right. To coach this bad you have to do it on purpose. The thing is he did this last year too.

There is a difference in winning a title and not.

If Thibs wins a title, I could revisit this.

Oh look, EJA is being overreacting to something that happened last night and is making broad generalizations. In other news, The sun rose this morning.   ;D

It reminds me a little of last year with the Sox when Francona was fired, and then we started hearing he was having big marital problems and was sleeping in his office and the players were drinking and eating junk food in the clubhouse. I think something is up

Doc did a good job coaching that year. But he never pulled off any miracles

It didn't just happen last night.  Oh look. The Celts just got beat by 30 to the Raps or something. Surprise surprise. Well at least we have Doc's one whole ring to comfort us

I'd rather have Pop. He's amazing at managing minutes. Winning without Ginobili, Tony Parker the only player playing 35 minutes a game and still doing well. He even changed his entire gameplan as Tim Duncan ages to a more run and gun team so Tony Parker could have a better time.

I used to not be into Pop, but now I am

Hell to the yeah. I prayed for this. I wanted Doc to go watch his kids play but he would not go.

I'd say the Spurs this season with Pop.

I'd trade Doc for Pop.

This from the guy who refuses to believe that JO gets playing time because he helps our defense.

I was pretty impressed by the Dallas coach last year. When JVG lost Patrick Ewing and then took the 8 seed to the finals I was impressed by that.
