This team needs to get younger athletic and more quicker on defense, and it's not about a early playoff exit because there's no way boston will win the ship anyway this season. it's about the future upcoming years and that's all,it's about the team and if it means danny has to trade players to make the team better so be it. me personally i would not trade rondo tho,

it's all about making guys like howard & gordon mayo etc want to play in green, sorry that will not happen if this time stay old all of these free agency will be just like cp3 "no i don't want to play in boston they're to old",i can't blame rondo because if rondo had durant & harden in boston or wade and lebron in boston with a legit center this team would be on one long ass winning streak and rondo would be averaging 11 assist.

the point is this team will get embarrassed by miami or Chicago in the playoffs if changes aren't made.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
so what do you propose we do?
What are we going to get of any real value for our veterans or people you'd like to trade?
What are we going to get back from teams that would take Pierce's giant contract?
Our only other trade worthy assets are Rondo and Bass, but they are using Rondo as part of a rebuild, and Bass is so cheap I can't see them shipping him unless it's a fantastic offer.

It's all well and good to talk about blowing it up or trading blah blah blah but you need to get something worth while in return.

So what's your proposal?
Much easier said than done.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I think a change in the starting lineup is a lot easier.  Wilcox at center or a secondary idea is Pietrus at sg.  JO dones nice vet things but man he doesn't offer much, blocks shots, takes charges, been around long enough to make some smart passes.  If we are sticking with him then ray should sit, he and paul have stunk it up for awhile now but I think ray's 1 dimensional game isn't helping the TEAM.  As the scorer off the bench he would help us greatly.  Paul comes out ray goes in, paul is rested and comes back in, rondo sits, paul runs offense with ray.  At this point Rondo makes his teammates better so he can make wilcox, JJJ etc look really good.We have a deep good bench, use them, rest the guys when it looks like they are tired.

Not a bad idea but try selling that to past NBA great.  Pride is a hard pill to swallow.

our roster is a workable one, we just need to tweak our starting line up, elevate pietrus in place of ray or paul..it's never too late, we can still get this done...switch on please!

A panic deal is more likely to set this team back for years. So what if we bow out in the 1st round against Miami or Chicago. So What? We will get our flexibility to build a team around Rondo. Trading Rondo is a ludicrous idea. Trading Pierce is ludicrous, too. Trading KG will get you bad players on big contracts and set the team back multiple years. Trading Ray Allen might get you a late 1st and or young talent.

We can see what Jeff Green can do for us next year.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

What about Gerald Henderson again? He is injured right now and Reggie Williams is having good games playing the 2 guard.
Henderson/Allen Pierce/Pietrus

We should upgrade the backup PG position. Hinrich would be great

Also Kaman should be a nÂș1 target if bought out.

I wouldn't trade any of the big 4, and just wait for the summer.

CAP SPACE. I know, I know, the chances of getting Howard are close to zero.. But you HAVE to try. You have to enter the season with cap space, no matter what.

Any mediocre young talent you'd get in any trades for anybody (other than Rondo) will be available via Free Agency if and when we don't get howard.

Amen.  FAs the magnitude of DH rarely come along.  If you have a chance of clearing cap space and making your franchise a FA destination, you have to do it.
