Look I'll admit it I'm one of those guys whose gotten caught up in the Rondo trade talk time and again. After all when it seems as though this team has no chance, and we need a trade, Rondos the only guy that could get us anything good in return..
But after thinking about it for awhile I realized...Boston will regret trading him if it happens.
Celtics fans have plenty of reason to be hostile toward Rondo... the inconsistent play that seems to be a result of his moodiness, the bad shooting, etc.
But not only has he improved his jumpshot and ft% there is one thing Rondo has, more so than any other player I've ever seen in this league... heart.
He embodies what it is to be a Celtic. When he's playing poorly it's reason to get upset, call for a trade... but when he's playing at his best, there isn't a better pg in this league.
The other thing we need to realize is that Rondo clashes a bit with the play style of the big 3. But that's why the lineup Sunday worked... Players like Wilcox are players that fit Rondo's speed and allow him to start off well.
In other words, we can't simply assume Rondo is playing bad for no reason. Line up changes bring the best out of Rondo. The point here... a team can be built around the kid. It'll have the speed of the Miami Heat, and hey that seems to work pretty well.
A team built around Rondo is better than the alternative of trading him. Mark my words, if he's traded, Boston will regret it...
Oh and to end it, who can forget this performance?
