Doc looks at the floor, looks back at Danny, and falls over in hysterics of laughter. He then gets back up, hands Danny his cap and then goes watch his son play College ball.

One of the great things about this organization is the communication between coach and GM.  I'm not sure there is a better relationship in the entire league.  Extremely an important part of this team and has been since Ainge arrived.  I think Ainge & Doc always are on the same page...Rotations, player evaluations, development, etc.

We still have to remember that guys like Bradley are extremely young.  You need to take the right approach with a 21 year old like this, same with Johnson & Moore.

I want them all learning from Rondo, Dooling, KG, & a defender like O'neal.  For me, hats off to O'neal..guy is defending like a savage in there.  He's not bringing anything offensively, but his defense is great.  I like the fact that a talent such as Johnson gets to sit behind & watch how KG & O'neal go to work. Same with Bradley behind Rondo & Dooling.

Development takes time.  We can't be judging guys like Bradley (even with his 2 yrs experience, still only 21), Johnson, & Moore yet.  They need this experience behind vets to learn this league and get better.  Just like they also need some time on the court like their getting when the vets go down or need a break. I think Doc & Ainge are going about it the right way.

There's no way Doc wants to leave a chance at a championship to watch his kid play basketball for 6 weeks.

What's the great job he'll get if he leaves the Celts? TNT analyst? Coach of Clemson? Coach of the Wizards?

You honestly think that the best Doc could do is end up coach of the Wizards, or coaching in college? He'd pretty much have his pick of coaching gigs next year or the year after.

I still say he is the future head coach of Team USA

I think that would be a fairly sucky job, but that's just me.

Coach K is going to step aside? How much does it pay to coach every 4 years or so?

There's a contender that will fire its coach?  I can't say I expect the Lakers to keep Mike Brown all that long. I could see him going to Orlando if he wanted to. Can't see why he would, or even go to the Lakers for that matter.

I don't see him as a college guy at all....mmmaaayyybbbee at his alma matter, but I doubt it

Haha. Do you think he's going to try and get another coaching job *this* season? Yikes.

I think if he were to leave right now I guess he'd do the tv thing.  Or maybe wait till March Madness. Or just wait till after and try to help his kid get ready for the draft.

But I don't see any jobs opening up that he'd want. I suppose there's the outside chance that if the Heat had a bad playoffs they might give him a call. Maaayyybbeee the Clippers

If only we'd fired Doc back in 2007, before he got all this "credibility" by winning a championship, and "earning" that big contract.

I'm not going to spend any time debating which coaches may be fired at the end of the season,  but it's generally true that 1-2 coaches get fired even though most people wouldn't have predicted it a third of the way through the prior season.

And what team would he be leaving that has a chance at a championship?! If you are referring to the Celtics then you're delirious. We are barely over a .500 team and right now on course to play the Heat in the first round of the playoffs. We barely beat the Bulls without their star out there who consistently lights up Rondo. That stat line of Rondo's doesn't happen with Rose on the floor. This team has no more chance of winning a championship than the Knicks or the Bucks or the Raptors. We are a first round exit unless we start winning a lot of games and get into a 4th or 5th seed spot.

I agree. I'm assuming either a trade, miracle, or doing some amazing stuff with the cap room they may get.
I think he's closer to a ring here than anywhere he would go

One of the few posts lately that I absolutely wish I'd have thought of myself.  Excellent.
