I would like to see him start from now on and have JO come off the bench.

I'd like this as well.  His rebounding/speed/interior finishing ability is most useful with the starters.  Less bigs to hide him on defensively, but I think he'd be a net positive overall, at least relative to JO.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Been very solid today so far.  I think I would like him starting too.  Our traditional starting lineup has no athleticism.

1st unit
Rondo
Ray
Pierce
KG
Wilcox

2nd unit
Dooling
Bradley
Pietrus
Bass
JO

for the next two weeks, insert JJJ for Bass on the second unit...pretty good defensively....may have trouble scoring

like Wilcox starting much better than JO...can run with Rondo

  • Rondo = Good
I definitely think he should be starting over JO.  We need his energy and quickness as a counterpoint to the old guys.  Rondo needs somebody to run the floor with him.

I think we are going to need in the near future one of 2 moves with starting unit.
wilcox would be great as jo only plays sub minutes anyways

or (sorry to say it) pietrus sg with ray coming off bench
might make a better team, TEAM

This is a good idea.

I'm not opposed to starting Wilcox, I just think it should be situationally. Have JO starting against guys that can hurt you inside like Howard and Bynum. And have Wilcox start against the lesser scoring/ slower bigs.

While I do agree (i've posted same idea previously)
I wonder if Wilcox would be better with just moving his feet, bodying up his man and running the lanes?  And start all the time, added.   JO is still a very good defender but he slows the starters down so much.  With kg playing pre knee injury ball I think we could get away with greg or chris at center for real minutes.  Keep JO as a low post threat and defensive leader for 2nd group.

Wilcox is a better athlete at this point and a better runner.  I like the energy he brings when he comes into the game.  He and JJJ today ran the court with Rondo well.

IMO, Ray should join the bench unit. That group would outscore every bench in the league.

They could use a pure pg though. :-\ Come on Danny, make it happen.

I'm not sure box wilcox & pietrus starting would be good but one of them I'd go for.
As far as ray, this year he seems to be more 1 dimensional.  No doubt he & rondo were the only 2 guys playing well at beginning of year.  He just seems to be a jump shooter at this point.  Pietrus is nowhere near the offensive player but he defends and rebounds better.  His defense is one of the better ones on entire team.  Ray on 2nd unit is a go to scorer big time.

I like Wilcox starting.  He and JJJ running the floor makes Rondo a far more effective player.

Adding just one other set of younger legs makes a big difference in how much easy offense the C's get.  When it is JO starting there is no speed/quickness on the floor other then Rondo.  It's hard to compete in today's NBA when you are competing against better athletes at four of five starting spots no mater how experienced and skilled you are.
