C: Andrew Bogut
PF: Andrea Bargnani
SF: Caron Butler
SG: Demar Derozan
PG: Jeremy Lin

PF/C: Drew Gooden
PG/SG: Rodney Stuckey

2 early 5th rounders.

Thoughts on my team/ the Butler trade?

I thought the trade made sense for both of you. You got good value back for Beasley, although I like Dudley more than Butler. Still, I think Caron fits the starting five.

Gooden catches a lot of flak, not sure why. Maybe his defensive shortcomings, or his lack of focus. I suppose you could do worse than have him as your first big off the bench.

Stuckey is another guy I don't care for too much. Off the bench, he's fine. I don't like the idea of him starting, though. Looks for his own shot much too much.
I thought Dudley was a better fit in that starting unit over Caron Butler. I don't actually like Butler there as part of that unit. Too many guys who want the ball on the offense.

I'd move him onto the bench and into a sixth man type role giving you two shot-creators off the bench in Stuckey and Butler. Then draft someone to play a 15-20 minute a night role as a starting SF. Someone who can play defense, rebound and hopefully provide a little offense.

I didn't like the Humphries pick but I absolutely love the rest of your team. It is fantastic.

nick and I are both huge proponents of winning the rebounding battle, which is a lot of the reason we took Humphries.  At the time, though, the hope was always to pair him with Bass, who helps us tremendously with spacing.
Its funny how much we talked about how we wanted to put this team together, which players we wanted, how we thought they would fit and somehow the players were there when we wanted them.

The Bass/Humphries combo was discussed early Tuesday. What we wanted from our 4th and 5th rounders was discussed early yesterday and it looks like we still might land our guy at 5.1. And Monday morning's pick is already decided.

So, um, yeah...  that's a pretty significant trade.  I'll post it as soon as riah sends confirmation.
