I went with Ilyasova because he provides me with some flexibility in that he can play multiple positions. His best numbers for and against are at SF which was a need. In Minny I felt we needed someone who could do a little of everything and this is what I came up with. He's got 15 in the 1st half tonight and has been playing well lately.

F:Parker,MKG,Budinger,Mirotic,Salmons
C:R.Lopez,Biyombo,Hickson
Coach: Shaka Smart

If Haslem is still out there, he's KC's guy. Heat draft Haslem.
Very nice. Best power forward on the board.

I don't know...  He's played very poorly this year.  He's been below-average defensively, and his shooting percentage is around 40%.  He's putting up 6 points and 8 rebounds (still very respectable).

Is a poor defending, poor scoring, good rebounding big man with leadership skills that useful?  And is Haslem's decline an aberration, or a fall off?
I knew his shooting numbers sucked but I haven't seen Miami play much this season. Has his defensive play really fallen off that much?

Yeah.  It's hard to tell since Miami plays a lot of up-tempo ball, but looking at Synergy, he ranks 236th in points allowed per possession.  If you look at counterpart production on 82games.com, he's getting handily outplayed at both power forward and center.

It's a big surprise to me, because I'm a huge Haslem fan.  We'll see if he plays through whatever rust he might have.

I think his defensive fall off is do to rust. I'd be interested to see if his shooting percentage dropoff is because he has to play in the post more often with Bosh on the floor.

Just getting some dinner, and I'll make a pick shortly. Have some messages to get through too, apparently.

Thompson and Thabo were both great picks and folks I was looking at for 4.6, [dang] :P

The Lakers are going to be impossible to score on.

I do like Thabo. And maybe he wasn't the reach I thought.

Thompson, I must be missing something about him.

Also, Ilyasova has been playing well of late. I'm not sure if he's an ideal third big for Minny, but they could run some of the same plays for him that they've drawn up for Love.

I'd have to look again at the stats, but is there a big difference between Amir and JT this season?
I think JT has better stats.  I had him ahead of Amir.  Plus I think JT has more upside.  I think Amir has plateaud

A lot of picks in this round surprised me.

Only half of the guys I had pegged for this round ended up getting selected here.
I agree.  only about 1/2 the guys I had slotted this round were picked.  Of course they went early in the round and were the ones I was hoping would slide.  Oh well, I'm content with JT for now.

I would agree with you guys, though I imagine we all mean different guys that should have been picked this round.

But I did ask the GM's picking this round to not make good picks and leave all the talent for the 4th because the Cavs weren't picking so "thank you" for leaving the players Roy and I were looking for on the board for us.

PG: Curry
SG: Harden
SF: Ariza
PF: Lee
C:  Camby
I actually like this team as a starting point.  The bench will be the key to whether it's a contender.

wizards starting 5 aka block city bullets

PG. John Wall
Sg: Nick Young
SF: Caron Butler
Pf. Serge Ibaka
C. Javale McGee
I think that's a solid young team of the future.  Butler's a bit old for the group but that's a pretty good team to develop in the next few years.

Being the Heat is tough.

You just need some inspiration.

Do something like this:

PG Jason Terry/ Ty Lawson
SG Dwyane Wade/ Paul George
SF Lebron James/ Josh Howard
PF Josh Smith/ Austin Daye
C Boris Diaw/ Timofey Mozgov

I just went over this. It's closer than I thought. But Amir is a year younger, he's more efficient (.579 TS% vs. .546 TS%), he blocks shots (1 a game) Thompson doesn't (0.4). Otherwise it's even, rebounding, assists, steals, etc.
