I think some tend to seriously overvalue the young talent in these drafts and think them capable of things they just can't do yet on an NBA basketball court against NBA veterans. Then they talk up a storm and suddenly people believe these players capable of doing things they eventually never end up doing.

But sometimes those guys are right about Ricky Rubio and Nick ranks them at the bottom of the division anyway.
I'm still not completely sold on Rubio. I notice some of the second time around games he isn't playing as well and against the better defensive teams he is not throwing up as gaudy a set of numbers. Also, he might conceivably be a worse shooter than Rondo by a wide margin.

He and Irving are obviously head and shoulders above the rest of the rooks this year but I want to see him against some good defensive teams before I say for certain he has arrived.

By the way if I remember your team correctly I praised your frontcourt and said you hand a weak backcourt. Something like Rubio and Aaron Brooks at the PG(Brooks isn't even in the league anymore) and Reddick and Howard at the SG spot?? Something like that.

You were in a super tough division and I am pretty sure I acknowledged that. There were 4 really good teams in that division.

You posted stats that showed a very slim difference and then some passionate fan posts that made the difference sound greater than it is. If I'm choosing between Jamison or Favors, I'll skip Jamison seeing as he's regressed to the level of a second year player and has always wilted when the bright lights were on him. I'd rather see what the young guys got than go with the old guy who i know has got nothin.

I fully agree the statistical difference is slim. But to say both are equally terrible defenders isn't very encouraging is it? Particularly given that Jamison's built his career on his offense. Again, James and Wade are young enough that I can get on board with adding Favors to the team, but to have such a green defender at either the 4 or 5 hurts you in the short term.

Eric Gordon to have surgery and miss at least 6 more weeks, if he comes back at all this season. Between him and Randolph, the 'Pick Two' Hornets might be looking at a 3-win season :P the future will be fun, though.

FT% alone puts the lie to this one. But he's not a good shooter, no.

Good memory and you're good people, Nick, but I'm not forgiving you! Cleveland missing the playoffs was an even worse crime than the Dino-Boxer-Bots not winning a title.

That's brutal. Sorry. What a shame for the franchise and the kid too. He's one of my favorite young players.

Also since I unintentionally dragged him into it, I'd just like to point out that Jamison is averaging:

25 points on 51% shooting, 9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.8 TOs over his last five games, including wins over the Clippers and Mavericks.

Wait, I'm still playing catch up. How was this trade approved? Round 13? I was under the impression we were doing one round a week for two weeks, stopping with Round 10.

Boston trades:  Andrew Bogut, #2
Cavs trade:  Anderson Varejao, 13.18

I know this draft is just for fun, but put away the play money guys.

I'd say you should also be receiving a 4th, or at least a 5th here.

I think I missed another trade; how did you end up with wdleehi's #3?

I think the draft is going to be 13 rounds.  Two rounds per day starting next week, ending on Thursday, I think.

Also, the agreed upon trade didn't involve the 13th rounder.  However, IP is under the impression that all trades need to involve an even number of draft picks (well, except for the two approved trades that had uneven numbers of draft picks so far), so we threw it in.  Of course, this leaves us with 12, rather than 13, picks now, but who's counting?  :P ;D
