And send Dooling to Cleveland and a pick to New York (or reverse the cities if you want)

I love this trade. Seriously.
Melo revives the Lebron estate in Cleveland. NY gets a better backcourt to surround Lin-sanity. We fill our needs and get younger. Please, look at the trade with an open-mind folks.

Final Line-Up:
PG Sessions/Bradley/Moore
SG Allen/Shumpert/Quis
SF Pierce/Pietrus/Pavlovic
PF Garnett/Bass/Johnson
C  Varejao/Wilcox
*Notes

1. Losing Andy does leave Cleveland empty on the frontcourt, but hey! Grabbing a superstar/legit allstar cures every pain!
2. New York would do it cause it causes relief for their troubles and gets rid of their quiet, but deadly Melo drama. Obviously, they could deal Amare instead but hey, Amare has better love in NY than Melo.
Jameer an elite PG?Please, ask that to his garbage highlights.

PAUL PIERCE, NO!

Great idea but I think we could get something better in return than a role player in Varajao...

The small pieces are to fill up cap space but the point is Rondo for Lopez. We should get Baron Davis/Mike Bibby out of it too (probably in lieu of Tony Douglas).

I've talked about the Nets, their Dwight dream and us capitalizing with Lopez before. This brings them closer to it.

With a center we go far into the playoffs.

What makes or breaks this trade though is New York. Maybe this stint without Melo has persuaded them that team-ball > Melo. Maybe the Nets can throw a couple picks their way, too.

no way NY moves Melo, period.

the deal for AV only makes marginal sense if the thought is to go all in for this year.  AV is not a building block for the future and all 3 players coming back impact the cap for the next couple of years.

The NJ is slightly better in that Lopez is younger but he doesn't seem to be developing his game much with Deron.  Not sure he's a building block any more than Rondo.

Varejao has a fractured wrist and might be out the rest of the regular season.
