Well, also understand the trade 'rumor' is coming from CB posters, who read the Rockets were still pursuing Gasol, but the Lakers want a PG back, and the Rockets aren't trading Kyle Lowry.

To reiterate, they're not trading Lowry for Gasol. That's where the rumor came from.

I say this, because Lowry is a binky, and I'd love this trade.

You would rather have Lowry then rondo?

Yes. But, I'd never pull the trigger on it. Lowry is one of the few guards out there whose defense is not a step down from Rondo's, and he's better at 'scoring the basketball' (despite a small shooting slump this year), and his passing is pretty diesel this season.

But while speaking rhetorically I'd take Lowry over Rondo, I don't think I'd ever have the stones to actually do it.

Have you seen Houston play?  Lowry is better than Rondo.

I disagree. Rondo is struggling right now. But the only thing Lowry is better at us shooting. And I can make the case that I think Rondo can be a good shooter if he just takes those shots because he can hit those. Lowry is in an all star level right now. But Rondo on a normal night is a triple double machine. He's also a much better defender.

Rajon is in slump right now, intentionally or not. But I disagree that he's not better than Kyle Lowry, who is playing really good.

'much better defender'? I think they're pretty clearly peers at the top of the class of PGs, with who is better a matter of opinion with a small margin either way.

Yeah, I would go as far as saying Lowry is a better defender than Rondo.

He may not create as many turnovers but he's a lock-down defender.

Lowry seems to be getting better while Rondo is regressing; no way HOU does this deal.

I like the honesty. I like Lowry. Arguing with you this summer and then his play this year has made me appreciate his abilities. That being said I am not sure he can facilitate for this team the way Rondo can. Ray Allen's effectiveness normally depends a lot on Rondo. I know Lowry averages a lot of assists but so did Allen Iverson. I wonder if he can create offense for others the way Rondo can.

I'm not against trading Rondo or anyone else for that matter.

Of all of the many trade Rondo scenarios posted here this is one of the few that makes sense to me.

Trading Rondo for Nash is silly IMO. Lets put together an All-Star Team from 2002 and see if it can compete in 2012.  That's a bad joke.

Getting another young, very good PG and a useful BIG with some skill who isn't a couple of years from applying for his AARP card in return for a 25 year old All-Star PG and filler makes some sense to me.

??? I never mentioned the word 'Nash' or the name 'Steve' anywhere in my post...if others mention that on this thread, then reply ur message to them, not to my post. Quote them, don't leave it blankly to me
Jameer an elite PG?Please, ask that to his garbage highlights.

Why does everyone want to trade our best player? There is a ridiculous amount of threads regarding a Rondo trade.

Why does everyone want to trade our best player? There is a ridiculous amount of threads regarding a Rondo trade.

Because as our top level talent on a very reasonable contract locked up for 3 more years, he will get us the most in return, either for now and/orthe future, although his value is not as high as it should/could be due to some of his less desirable qualities.

Many on this board are unhappy with his inconsistent performances, and whether they are correct or not, they attribute his inconsistency to his immaturity and moodiness.

After the Perk trade, he pouted for a long time, and Rondo, himself, admitted that he let it impact his play.

Throwing a water bottle through a big screen TV during last year's playoffs because he was being criticized when the team was reviewing film is another relatively recent incident that comes to mind that underscores his petulance and couldn't have impacted the team in a real positive way.

The recent Raptors stinker game some attribute to his anger at Kleiza, who injured him on a borderline dirty play. If I were Rondo, I'd be pretty p---ed at my teammates who should have made Kleiza pay, either in the game that it occurred or in the last game when they all stunk.

Sadly, both his inconsistency and his moodiness affect his value as to what we can get in return. His inability to hit free throws and shoot cosistently also don't help his value nor do those things endear him to many on this board.

If we can get good value for Rondo, I think we should trade him. It's unlikely, so we definitely shouldn't "SELL LOW."

Both trades (the one mentioned in the title and by the OP) are way too much for Houston to give up.

Both would also be a steal for the Celtics. Besides, where do you put Luis Scola when you have KG?

Not happening. The Rondo for Lowry/Dalembert one would be nice. But again, not happening from Houston's end.

I'd do it if maybe Houston would sweeten it and add a Chandler Parsons and a 2nd rounder
