i think a core of rondo, favors & kanter would be something good for utah's future

dont see how rondo/curry back court works out but havent GS been trying to move ellis for the longest?

any chance we can get these guys straight up ? the salary matches maybe if we throw in a 2nd rounder they'll bite

call me crazy but i wouldnt be surpirsed if danny tried a jimmer/rondo swap for thier lottery & jason thompson who knows just free thinking

thoughts?

Harris stinks.

Golden State would probably love to dump Ellis for Rondo... Curry is a phenom undersized SG pretending to be a PG.  Ellis is an overrated crap ball-hog chucker...  If they replaced Ellis with Rondo, Curry averages 30 points and Golden State thrives.  Boston gains very little from acquiring a poor man's Allen Iverson.

If you can't tell... I'm not a Monta Ellis fan at all.

If we could somehow get Curry for Rondo, though... I'd poop my pants.

Curry shoots 48%, 44% from three, 90% from the line... averages 13 shots.  Arguably the best shooter in the league up there with Nash, Durant and Ray... and he's 23 years old.  He's incredible.  Meanwhile Monta Ellis is jacking up 20 shots a night.  You best believe Golden State would love to rid themselves of him for a quality player.

I meant that Curry on the Celtics would lead to moar jumpshots.

Curry on the Celtics would be like Nash on the Celtics except you're getting a 23 year old instead of a 38 year old.  Curry shoots lights out.  Exact opposite of Rondo.   Our offense would be outrageous and Curry would be more than capable enough to run the point with offensive weapons like KG, Ray and Pierce still here.

WOuld never happen.  Golden State refused to trade Curry for CHris Paul.  The second some sucker takes Ellis off their hands, Curry becomes a major star.

Rondo for Curry would be interesting, it would make us better in the long run because of the age difference, but I'm not sold that Curry is a better player than Rondo right now.  Harris is pretty much a below average point guard right now, giving up Rondo for him would be a horrible trade.

If the Celtics traded Rondo for Devin Harris or Jimmer, I'd call for Ainge's head.

call me a keeper, but i still believe the team we have can still put up some pleasant surprises..i'd say to ainge that let the season play out, decide at the end..ellis is a chemistry breaker, i don't see him buying into the celics' ubuntu culture, too much "I" and "me" in this guy it seems..

Rondo for Devn Harris straight up, Utah would do it, because that's a heist.

Rondo for Harris, Kanter and a pick, now were talking.

  • Rondo = Good
Harris isn't very good, but I think Ellis for Rondo is probably the most equal player for player swap you could make.  Both probably have similar trade values at this point.

I don't think Rondo would necessarily fit on the Warriors, though -- the reason they want to trade Ellis is so Curry can play PG full time.  It could make sense if it were part of a larger deal in which the Warriors get, say, Granger, and the Celtics get Ellis.

I agree on your concern re: Ellis, but is Rondo really Mr. Ubuntu?  The C's just finished the cream puff segment of their schedule last night.  I don't see Doc pulling a rabbit out of his hat from here.  Maybe a mouse or an occasional hamster, but  there ain't no bunnies coming out of that hat.
