Lebron sucks.  Here's his quote when responding to Perk's quote, and Larry saying he'd take Kobe on his team:

Quote
"I'm an easy target; if someone wants to get a point across -- just throw LeBron's name in there," James said. "You could be watching cartoons with your kids and you don't like it, you say, 'Blame it on LeBron.' If you go to the grocery store and they don't have the milk that you like, you just say, 'It's LeBron's fault.' "

Poor Lebron, he's got it so bad.  Whiny punk.

I totally agree.  First, it's bad form to call out another NBA player, especially someone who was trying to defend his team's basket against someone else's man. Perk is exactly right here.  Great players who have actually won something, like Kobe, don't tweet out childish stuff like this.  Oh year, Perk's teams have eliminated LeBron from the playoffs how many times now? That would be twice.

Maybe Perk should tweet "Getting dunked on feels almost as bad as laying down in a playoff series when the team you are supposed to lead loses 4 straight after being up 2-0, and then scurrying out of town for greener pastures."

I see it as the classic "Win vs Look Good" debate in basketball.  Too many NBA players care about looking good and styling that  they won't try to step over to help stop a dunk when a teammate gets beat, for fear of being posterized.

Perk clearly isn't one of those guys, and that's why he's beloved by teammates.

I just heard the replay of the Lebron interview.  His "easy target" comment was made after the reporter asked about Larry Bird's comment that he would have rather had Kobe as a teammate.

One would think that a player would be a little more respectful when one of the best players of all time says something like that.  I don't think Larry was uttering LeBron's name to garner publicity.

It's unfortunate that someone with LeBron's character has been blessed with so much raw talent.  The guy just doesn't get it.

Although it obviously didn’t come out this way, maybe LeBron mentioning Perk by name was a sign of respect.

When you get mentioned by name that means you’re somebody.

LeBron dunked on John Lucas, of course nobody mentioned Lucas by name, he’s a nobody.  It’s not impressive that he dunked on John Lucas, he’s a scrub, it just that the dunk was impressive.

What made Blake Griffin’s dunk much more impressive is that he did it on one of the toughest defenders in the NBA.  Blake does that same dunk on Mikki Moore or Patrick O’Bryant or Scalabrine or John Lucas.  Nowhere near as impressive.

LeBron tweeted:
Quote
@blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!!! Wow! I guess I’m No. 2 now. Move over #6.

But what if he said:
Quote
@blakegriffin just dunked on the baddest man in the NBA so hard!!! Wow! I guess I’m No. 2 now. Move over #6.

Or:
Quote
@blakegriffin Anybody who can pull off a dunk on Kendrick Perkins automatically is in the running for best dunk of the year.  But that dunk would have been impressive on anybody!

Sure I can see how Perk felt disrespected by it.  But I can also see how it’s sort of compliment too, kind of eluding to the fact dunking on Kendrick Perkins is impressive.  That means Kendrick Perkins is one tough dude.

I want Perk to channel his inner Bill Laimbeer the next time the Thunder face the Heat.

Kevin Durant is one of the biggest utilizers of Twitter in the NBA.  He tweets far more often than Lebron.  I guess Perk has a problem with his tweeting as well.

Perk was being a whiny little punk.  Period.  It was poor form and it made no sense and was also like 3 weeks after the dunk occurred anyway.  Just doesn't make sense on so many levels.

Laimbeer was just a dirty thug.  NOBODY should play like Laimbeer.

Perk's tough, but he doesn't try to deliberately hurt people out there like Bill did.

Is there something he said that was incorrect?

LeBron has no one to blame but himself for choking when it matters.
