Lebron sucks. Here's his quote when responding to Perk's quote, and Larry saying he'd take Kobe on his team:
"I'm an easy target; if someone wants to get a point across -- just throw LeBron's name in there," James said. "You could be watching cartoons with your kids and you don't like it, you say, 'Blame it on LeBron.' If you go to the grocery store and they don't have the milk that you like, you just say, 'It's LeBron's fault.' "
Poor Lebron, he's got it so bad. Whiny punk.
I totally agree. First, it's bad form to call out another NBA player, especially someone who was trying to defend his team's basket against someone else's man. Perk is exactly right here. Great players who have actually won something, like Kobe, don't tweet out childish stuff like this. Oh year, Perk's teams have eliminated LeBron from the playoffs how many times now? That would be twice.
Maybe Perk should tweet "Getting dunked on feels almost as bad as laying down in a playoff series when the team you are supposed to lead loses 4 straight after being up 2-0, and then scurrying out of town for greener pastures."
I see it as the classic "Win vs Look Good" debate in basketball. Too many NBA players care about looking good and styling that they won't try to step over to help stop a dunk when a teammate gets beat, for fear of being posterized.
Perk clearly isn't one of those guys, and that's why he's beloved by teammates.
I just heard the replay of the Lebron interview. His "easy target" comment was made after the reporter asked about Larry Bird's comment that he would have rather had Kobe as a teammate.
One would think that a player would be a little more respectful when one of the best players of all time says something like that. I don't think Larry was uttering LeBron's name to garner publicity.
It's unfortunate that someone with LeBron's character has been blessed with so much raw talent. The guy just doesn't get it.
