B) It doesn't really matter anyways, it actually reinforces the notion that Melo wasn't going to resign in NJ, because if they dind't have a backup plan when they allowed him to fly to NY, why else did they give up?

The Nuggets informed them that they liked the Knicks trade offer a lot more and the Nets got tired of the give and take?

Or Proporov might've wanted to get back to his jet ski tricks which are way more awesome than Melo anyhow.

Okay. Maybe that happened. Moving on, I will offer Carmelo Anthony to the first team that offers me 5 rotation players and 2 draft picks.

That's the assumption I'm operating under, just waiting to see what time slot I have tomorrow!

Man that'd be nice...to wait until Monday would be painful :).

Everyone has their teams, right?

Ha, what'd you think I got up to 6k by making astute points about basketball?! Have you seen my work?! Half my posts are just the picture of Chris Bosh with 'nope' written on it.

Doesn't the international date line go through Canada somewhere? It's really Tuesday in Canada right now, I think.

Don't need to break up Amare and Melo ... just need to build a supporting cast that complements Amare and Melo better than the current Knicks' supporting cast does.

A little more playmaking, more depth and a better head coach.

D'Antoni isn't the issue. And I wouldn't support sacking a proven winner that still has his players' loyalty. He does need a true point guard to run his offense. Whether that point guard is Jeremy Lin remains to be seen.
D'Antoni should have been fired the second they made that trade for Carmelo Anthony last year.

He is a roster specific coach who has proven himself incapable of maximizing that team's collection of talent. Both when Billups was there and this season with Tyson Chandler.

The Knicks would be better off with a JVG type ... someone who can better harness the Knicks collective defensive and rebounding potential.

I agree D'Antoni is a one system coach, then again so is eventual replacement, Phil Jackson, and there are a half a dozen guys who haven't even gotten that far. Del Negro anybody?

And despite his reputation, Mike D has got the Knicks playing solid defense this season. Anyway, I'm sceptical that a team built around STAT and Melo would have a reasonable chance of cracking the top 5-6 defensively, even with a Van Gundy at the helm.
