Or if the offer is two firsts and two second rounders do you trade Tom who is 35 next year?

Knee jerk reaction thread, but that's what makes it fun.

Right now, the Pats are still probably the favorites to come out of the AFC next year, so I guess I'd say no.  Brady isn't as untouchable as he used to be, but he's still the Pats best chance to win a Super Bowl.

Well, unless the Pats plan was to trade Brady for two 1sts and two 2nds, and then sign Peyton Manning in free agency.  That would be something.

No, especially the way the Patriots have drafted the last few years. It'd be another wasted draft.

I'm leaning toward no unless you can get me an elite QB. There is no way on Earth Andrew Luck, Hoyer, or RG3 could have won that game.
If Brady were 37 I might say yes, but I'm planning on a Super Bowl win next year, so no

Disclaimer I am a Ravens fan (who I think are going to be the favorites next year and should have beaten New England this year anyway).

I think it would depend a great deal on where the picks are.  I mean if one of the picks gets you RG3 than that is something you would probably have to do, but if you are talking about middle of the first round (or later) type picks, than I don't think you do it.  The Patriots are pretty young, but have a lot of holes that need plugging, multiple high picks for a 35 year old quarterback, even a HOFer like Brady, it tough to pass up.  Cleveland, for example, has two firsts this year, including #4, if the Browns offered both 1sts this year, its second, and a future second (that could become a first), than I don't really see how New England can turn that down.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

No.

They are few pieces away from being much better.

Get a pass rush.  (helps fix holes in secondary)

Get a true deep threat (add the big play to the underneath weapons they have)

Commit to the rush more.  If the starting RB can't handle more carries, upgrade the number 2 RB to take the extra carries.

Understand how hard it is to get a QB as good as Brady.

No.
Tom Brady is one of the greatest all time, and currently a top 5 QB right now (I'd put him at #3 behind Rodgers and Eli).  You don't trade that away for "potential" especially in football where it is notoriously difficult to project how well a college player will play in the pros.

After last night im not sure if I put Brady above Eli, but I still do put Brees and Rodgers at the top together.

Brady had 5200+ passing yards (2nd in league) and was 3rd in QB rating (105.6).

At least OP admits the reaction was knee jerk.  :P

This whole thing sucks and im heartbroken, I couldnt sleep last night and the game kept replaying in my head.  That said, Brady gives us the best chance to win over the next 5 years so no, we should keep him.

Well, you all could be diehard Redskins fans (me).

New England will more than likely contend for next several years.

I can only hope that Washington will make the playoffs next year.

No.  Brady probably still has 3-4 years left as an elite QB (at least), and as long as he's on the Pats, the team will have a shot to go deep in the playoffs -- if only because the NFL is a watered down league with lots of "parity."

Brady still plays like a phenom in the regular season, and having him on your team guarantees regular season success and a good seed in the playoffs -- even if he plays more like a human being in the playoffs.

No sense in throwing that away, since that's what the vast majority of teams in the league are desperately trying to get.

Yeah, it's Rodgers / Brees / Eli / Brady.
