Miami must have watched 3-4 minutes Avery Bradley tape when he guarded Lin. The Boston game was night before his breakout game against the Nets. Jeremy played few minutes in 1st half (none second half). Avery made his life miserable those few minutes. He picked his pocket couple of times. Jeremy was benched the 2nd half.

Scouting report: Make him work on defense run him through multiple screen, and full court pressure him every play. He gets tired quickly. You see him huffing and buffing in 1st quarter (mouth breather) because of the pressure. He gets Fatigued, and turns the ball over a lot as result

Welp I said a dozen times that flip Murray and Brandon Jennings managed to look ridiculous for 11 games and until Lin made it to game 12 I had to remain stubbornly unsold.

Game 12:  1-11 shooting. 8 turnovers.  Blown out

He couldn't have whiffed more badly than that.  The only test that has mattered to me.

Still not sold.  We will see.  So far he's a poor man's taiwanese American flip Murray

How bout some love for the kings  Isaiah Thomas

Jlin will be fine. Its excepting for young player still learning on the job to have bad nights like last night. Against the Best team in the NBA.

it couldn't have happened at a better time, and against the heat..a solid performance not necessarily a W could have cemented his claim to fame..but hey, everybody deserves an off-night...or it only shows he cannot co-exist with melo?

Or maybe it just means he had an 11 game hot streak just like flip and Jennings had 11 game hot streaks until the league caught up with them.  11 great games followed by a free fall

Not saying it will happen... Just saying that it already happened twice that I can think of... And tonight seemed to fit with the trend

I don't disagree with your assessment.  I went against popular opinion and said Lin would last 11 games.  Coincidentally on his 12th game he craps the bed.  I'm entitled to gloat until proven wrong.   [dang] it feels good to be LarBrd33 sometimes.  I only wish other forum members could experience the pure joy of being right  :-P

Anyhow... Here's a buddy of mine's take.  FYI he loves the Washington huskies:
Quote
"IT last 3 games, and first 3 starts

18 pts 6 assists, 2 reb, 2 TO
24 pts, 5 assists, 3 reb, 2TO VS MIA
23 pts, 11 assists, 8 reb, 2 TO

AVE 22 pts, 7.3 assists, 4.3 reb, 2 TO, 49% fg

He was the last player taken in the draft, and he is 5'8.

Lin last 3

21 pts, 9 assists, 7 reb, 3TO
17 pts, 9 assists, 2 reb, 4TO
8 pts, 3 assists, 6 reb, 8 TO VS MIA

15.3 pts, 7 assists, 5 reb, 5 TO, 35% fg

They play the same position. After 3 games Lin was the chosen 1. What gives? Cant be draft position, came out of nowhere....when IT left UW people thought he would have to play in Europe.

It's a fair point... Where is Thomasanity?

I think that with Isiah Thomas (great to be able to type THAT name again :)), his Kings haven't had the same amount of success as NY has lately, as far as wins.

They also don't have the same "Star" power that NY has, with Melo and Stat. I love DeMarcus as a future dominant Center, and Tyreke as a future All-Star, but they are simply not in the same arena as Melo and Stat, yet.

The franchises have a totally different place in the world-view, with NY having Spike Lee, and numerous other stars and personalities that could be found at games.

Additionally - with the exception of the Chris Webber-Vlade Divac-Peja Stojakovic-Bibby years of the Kings, they haven't had much success.

And of course - the race issue is key - BUT - Lin has game, no doubt. He isn't a one and done sensation, here. Some may view that fact negatively, but it is what it is. Lin looks different from most people in the NBA, plain and simple...that's not a bad thing. It's to be celebrated, especially after Yao's unexpected departure.

I was hoping to see Yao whip up on Dwight for a few more years, but now I have Lin.

Don't let last night fool you...Lin is real. I like Isiah Thomas, too - but he hasn't raised the level of expectations with Sacremento like Lin has with NY.

With Lin, NY has a shot to do somethings...with IT, I just don't see that, yet.

Jeremy played few minutes in 1st half (none second half). Avery made his life miserable those few minutes. He picked his pocket couple of times. Jeremy was benched the 2nd half.

Lin looked so bad against the Celtics that the Knicks committed to giving him minutes so that they would know if they should cut Lin before his contract became guaranteed.

So, basically, if Bradley was not so awesome, Linsanity would never have been unleashed.

My memory is that Lin looked good in that run in the 2nd quarter against the C's and that earned him the start.  Yes Bradley picked him a few times but Lin got to the hoop a few times and had some nice assists.   I don't think anyone thought Avery was the better PG of the 2.

Poor Lin. The kid is due to wake up any second now in his Harvard dorm room. Granted I don't know where that leaves me but this is nuts

I'm not a PCer but I agree with the naysayers. Lin is not a frontman for an ethnic enclave; he's is own man.

Thus, unless he's advocating the *Chinaman* as an American, living in a type of diaspora, with its own subculture and separated lifestyle from everyone else, let's leave out the fortune cookies and put in some NY cheesecake's ... Graham Crackers!

This is not the racially divided South Africa, which is still going on in many ways even today, where the former Afrikaners have their Anglo-Dutch accoutrements, the South Indians with their own private Tamil enclave, and the Blacks in a mainstay African state.

I've got no words for how small minded I think this whole racism biz is.

Back in Holland we can joke about just about anything, and no one cares: BECAUSE IT'S A JOKE.

Jeez. People really need to learn to grow some thicker skin.

.edit: man, that uptightness about race, jokes, and all of that... it's really, thoroughly getting to me. It ticks me off. It makes me angry that people can't take a thing, and I guess we owe it all to the *actual* racists. They're making life hard for the rest of us. Dumb people. I hate people *that* dumb.

Shut up, Dirk.

I know a Turkish women, and yes, she was white/fair-skinned and was denied entrance to a club in Holland. They said, 'Dutch only', as a way to brush her off.

Because she'd lived in America, for 5-7 years, she told 'em that she was American (even though she didn't get her citizenship yet), and they then, decided to admit her. I guess getting a US passport turns a Near Easterner into a proper *white* in Europe.

So racism in Europe is alive and well. It's become more Nazi-like, since the mid-80s, from all the progress it made, since the second world war.
