I can't even watch Sports-center anymore.  It's every 5 minutes with this guy, they just won't get off his you-know-what.
I agree, big fan of twitter for NBA related info but shoot I had to delete a bunch of the media guys off my list it is NOTHING but LIN in every single article over and over and over sick of it

I'm still not buying the hype.  I've watched too much basketball to get caught up in this.  He's on fire right now.  I've seen it before.  There was like a two month stretch in 05-06 (Dec-Jan) when Delonte West shot like 53% and 50% from three... It was tough not to believe he was one of the best pure shooters alive at that point... http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/2422/year/2006/delonte-west

That was like a 20 game stretch for West.  It's been 5 games for Lin.  It's been a fun ride.  Jacking up 20 shots a night and turning the ball over 8 times a night... we'll see what happens.  I give him 11 games.

what you havent seen is a guy that was not drafted, in the dleague last year, and was cut by two teams this season before it started...do it.

will he keep it up, i highly doubt it. he will come down to earth im sure, especially since melo will be returning and jacking shots up.

it is enjoyable to see an underdog do what he is doing.  you can believe what you want, but after seeing your racially insensitive posts the other day (that were removed), then attempting to justify them by saying your asian girlfriend approves (like that even matters), your motives are easy to see.

Are people on this board actually rooting for him, or are they just enjoying the novelty?

I don't know if we should be rooting for him, as we are kind of battling the Knicks for playoff positioning.

i hate that he is on the knicks, but yes, i am rooting for him.  i love an underdog story and what he is doing is a big deal and inspirational.

I watched the game last night (NYer).  Is anyone else dumbfounded as to why Calderon gave him 4 feet of space, even as the clock hit 3 seconds and he was still behind the 3 point line?  How do these players get paid like they do when they are that stupid?

I don't understand it either.

Way too much room and then a late after-thought kind of challenge with two hands?!?

Just bad defense but what a great shot.

That was either a great shot or a bad shot.

Sitting out the 4th for garbage time tonight.  A couple of weeks ago this would have been the only time he'd get minutes.

10 pts 13 ast in 27 minutes tonight
Yup

OMG. Lin finally had a not phenomenal game. Where are all the haters to say he doesn't do things perfect and has lots of TOs and it doesn't matter if they win with him?

I hate Lin, mostly because he's not on my fantasy team

Good. I won't have to hear about him on ESPN all night and all day tomorrow.

Actually, he was fantastic tonight. He's a big part of why they got that huge lead. They were dominating the Kings so badly that he didn't need to do much more, and was able to sit down on the bench for practically the entire 4th quarter.

Yeah they gave him a lot of rest tonight because he's been overworked.  13 dimes, 4/6 shooting, +19; what's not to love about that?  Still had 6 TO's and needs to cut those down.  If he played his regular minutes he'd be on pace for 10+ TO's.

They are double teaming Jeremy Lin. If that doesn't blow your mind, i don't know what will. #respect

Rondo is hardly being guarded on the court. And Lin is garnering double team. WOWWOWW

The media (ESPN in particular) will beat a dead horse until it's nothing but pulp.

I'm trying to avoid all that and just watch the guy play some basketball.

Lin's story is much more entertaining than Tebows. The credit is also warranted more so as well.

Rondo in the post was monstrous. They were trying to decide whether to double him there tonight. I hope they go to him more.

Lin is seriously beasting though. Keep it up (just not against us).

Lin really showed his prowess as a ball handler and passer tonight.  I was very impressed by his play. Defense needs work, but no one's perfect.  The Knicks play so much better when he is on the floor.  They are fun to watch, and I thought I would never say that. Have become my second favorite team in the NBA. Wow, did I just say that??

Doubting Thomas Eh!

There is a big difference comparing Lin with Delonte.. Its an absurd comparison because Delonte is a bench player playing for a scrub team then as a starter which has gone hardy any notice by anyone despite the extraordinary % he has put up... Lin on the otherhand is an Undrafted, ready to be axed journeyman who in the last 6 games has put up a performance for the ages that in fact his first 5 NBA start numbers has not been done in NBA history by a PG and by an Asian no less....Hence he is recieving all the Hype.  Did you even see how Raptor fans even wanted him to make that last shot was Linsane.

Lin may not become a star as what you have pointed out, But if your a Knicks fan, It would be a travesty if your not pleased to what Lin is doing to that Franchise at the moment.

Have there been fluke stretches by non shooters? There's a ton of examples of a hot shooting stretch but Lin isn't really relying on his jump shooting.
Yes.  There has been.  Rookie Brandon jennings come to mind.

And yea, I realize Jennings has developed into a nice talent.  But he dropped 55 as a rookie wasn't a sign of immediate superstardom.
