  • KG IS THE KING
I'm still not buying the hype.  I've watched too much basketball to get caught up in this.  He's on fire right now.  I've seen it before.  There was like a two month stretch in 05-06 (Dec-Jan) when Delonte West shot like 53% and 50% from three... It was tough not to believe he was one of the best pure shooters alive at that point... http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/2422/year/2006/delonte-west

That was like a 20 game stretch for West.  It's been 5 games for Lin.  It's been a fun ride.  Jacking up 20 shots a night and turning the ball over 8 times a night... we'll see what happens.  I give him 11 games.
Jacking up 20 shots a night yes, but making over 50% of them. I'll take that.
And young point guards are generally more turnover prone than usual, look at Russell Westbrook.

Doubting Thomas Eh!

There is a big difference comparing Lin with Delonte.. Its an absurd comparison because Delonte is a bench player playing for a scrub team then as a starter which has gone hardy any notice by anyone despite the extraordinary % he has put up... Lin on the otherhand is an Undrafted, ready to be axed journeyman who in the last 6 games has put up a performance for the ages that in fact his first 5 NBA start numbers has not been done in NBA history by a PG and by an Asian no less....Hence he is recieving all the Hype.  Did you even see how Raptor fans even wanted him to make that last shot was Linsane.

Lin may not become a star as what you have pointed out, But if your a Knicks fan, It would be a travesty if your not pleased to what Lin is doing to that Franchise at the moment.

Have there been fluke stretches by non shooters? There's a ton of examples of a hot shooting stretch but Lin isn't really relying on his jump shooting.

Wow...and to think that yesterday was VaLINtine's Day...what a LINderella story... ;D

He had 11 assists, and Amar'e didn't shoot particularly well (8-22), being that this was his first game back.

I can only imagine how Lin's numbers will look once Amar'e AND Melo get rolling...WOW.

Too bad NY will hit a Green roadblock if they meet BOS in the playoffs, but this is a great story so far.

I watched the game last night (NYer).  Is anyone else dumbfounded as to why Calderon gave him 4 feet of space, even as the clock hit 3 seconds and he was still behind the 3 point line?  How do these players get paid like they do when they are that stupid?

No--because Calderon sucks at defense.

Are people on this board actually rooting for him, or are they just enjoying the novelty?

I don't know if we should be rooting for him, as we are kind of battling the Knicks for playoff positioning.

I'm rooting for him.  He's a Harvard kid.  Always like seeing the local college guys do well.  I'm the same way with guys like Dudley, the Cookie Monster, and Barea although the level of excitement this kid is generating  seems to be on a different level.

I say two competitive divisional teams, NY and Philly, is good for the C's.  It will help keep them from falling to satisfaction with mediocrity.

NY has SAC, NOH, DAL, NJ, ATL for next five - all at home.

Their 6th game after those is in MIA - Feb 23 on TNT.

They could easily get the 1st 2 games...DAL will be a fight, but certainly winnable...NJ is certain win. I'd love to see Lin eat Deron's lunch again.

ATL would be a good challenge guard-wise..Joe Johnson and Teague.

But all FIVE games are winnable for NY...and then cap it off with that game in MIA...hopefully Melo will be back by then.

BOS plays NY on March 4th, in BOS, at 1:00 on ABC...must see game, there.

Imagine the story IF they could get these next 6, lol...wow.

Its more Mello sucks at anything basketball but shooting and kills  the team being able to contribute freely and play AS A TEAM.  In steps Lin who realizes this , and doesn't give a flip about a selfish Mello and his poor basketball skills as a team player.

NYK , needs to despertly unload Mello at any cost and bench him for good , or get a REAL coach who isn't afraid of star players and know s to make them listen and work and play team ball .

It doesn't take rocket science to figure out what is wrong with the Knicks.  Fire the coach and trade Mello ASAP.

I can't even watch Sports-center anymore.  It's every 5 minutes with this guy, they just won't get off his you-know-what.

Some people seem to be forgetting that buying in doesn't mean that you should start thinking he's "the next Michael Jordan" or something. It's just a kid on a hot streak, and we all want it to last as long as possible, and possibly for him to remain at least 'solid' after that.
