We haven't seen Lin's offense against a team that actually PLAYS defense yet, so let's hold off on calling him a star. Even against the mediocre teams, he turns the ball over a lot, can't use his left hand/go left (seriously, he pulls the SAME move to go right almost every time, a decent defender should lock that down), and gets lost on defensive rotations (though he's not terrible at D). Just from watching his game he looks like someone could will get shut down by even a decent defensive squad; the real test of whether he is a star is whether he will be able to adapt and keep putting up 20/8 against these better teams.
