Ray hasn't really slipped at all...

8-10 mil?

Kinda expect the same for KG.

Best case scenario we can sign both of them and give Jeff Green a contract.  That'll use up our 25 mil in cap space.  We'll probably lose Bass, though.

Not sure if we have bird rights on Jeff Green or Bass... we might be able to go over the cap by signing all 4 of them using bird rights.  Either way, there's no money left for bringing in an outside free agent.

I think Ray might want 2 year deal, 15 Million- I could see someone throwing a 20-24M 3 year deal to him

If KG continues, 1 Year Deal not less than 7M as well. My guess would 8M with player option for 8M.

As much as I would love for them both to come back on the cheap, I just don't think it is going to happen.

Think Ray and KG are both mid-level exception guys at best next year. Only contending teams will want them and most won't have the cap space to make it happen (unless the Celtics do a sign and trade).

KG's clearly declining and Ray only has 1 NBA skill so think ~5-6 MLE would make sense.

I don't expect KG to return to the NBA next year. I expect him to retire.

I expect Ray to look for $8-10 million for a one year contract but be willing to accept $6-7 million per annum for a two year deal. I could see Ray playing for as little as the mini-MLE ($3mil) in an effort to play for a contender if he didn't like the options available to him at greater money.

Wow, I guess I severely underestimated in my mind what they would be getting. If the Celtics do what they want to do next year in FA, then neither will be getting more than a couple of million if they want to stay. I would love to keep them on board, but unless we are essentially the same team as we are this year (plus Green), then they will probably be moving on.

In the hypothetical scenario where Dwight Howard comes to Boston and the Celtics have to renounce everyone, I would expect the reasonable price for KG and RA to be splitting what is left under the cap between the two of them.

I'd be surprised if either got more than $5 mil outside of Boston.  Neither will want to go to a non-contender.  Most of the contenders will only have one of the MLE's to work with.  It's the years that will be the sticking point.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I mostly agree with this...I won't be shocked if they both retire rather than play for a team with pricks. I could see them going to Dallas or San Antonio. Not sure about Miami or LA unless it's the Clippers

I think something similar to Ray Allen's contract, one year with a player option for a second year makes the most sense.  With the over-36 rule, you can't really offer a contract for more than three years.  By making the second year a player option, you make it difficult to trade them, which I think is something that Garnett and Allen would want.  I think they would honorably retire if their abilities fell off a cliff rather than exercise their option as a money grab.  If it made sense to bring them back past next season in a reduced role, they may even decline the option and sign for less.

Yeah, I just can't see either getting more than the MLE.  Neither will want to play for anything but a title contender.  This means one of two scenarios is likely to play out.

-The Celtics renounce thier rights to both and land a major FA and a mid level FA.  The C's then become serious title contenders, and KG and Ray agree to come back on Vet minimum deals.

-The C's decide to go for a more prolonged rebuild, but one or both still have a desire to play.  Under this scenario, it is very likely any team they would consider would have only the MLE to sign them with.

If I had to guess, both would be willing to come back under the 1st scenario, while Ray is the only one likely to seek another team under the 2nd.  KG may just straight up retire regardless.

I think KG will most likley retire after this year.  In any case I don't see Ray or KG being a starter next year on too many teams.  That alone brings them down to the MLE price level.  There aren't too many bench players who command $10m + except the sixth man specialist types who are good enough to start (ie a Ginoboli) but don't.

Barring injury I think it is very very unlikely that he will retire.

His make up is more Michael Jordan than Rasheed Wallace. I don't see him calling it quits until his legs fall off.

I think Ray will sign with a contender for the full MLE and KG will retire.

Best case scenario would be Bass not opting out, Green settling for about 4m, and Ray and KG sacrificing and signing for the vet's min.. That would help us tremendously in getting good FAs.. If Ray and KG want to continue playing for more rings in Boston, they should settle for the 1M..
