Larry Bird of the first big three  would be my choice though we could use Kevin more with this team.  KG of the modern big three.

Putting a 28 yo KG even with the current Paul and Ray, and the rest of the crew as currently constituted would make us instant contenders IMO.  He was such a fantastic player in his prime...

I followed PP in College and KG in MInn. and I jumped up and down when he became a C. But, I'd take a young KG on my dream team.  I would make special effort to watch KG play at Minn. He was a one man show, he was so freakin active. . Blocking shots and stealing balls on one end , fast break dunk at the other. Time and time again. KG wasted away his best days playing for a scrub team. Sorta like DH is doing now and SHaq almost did at Orlando.

A young KG could bring his A game for 38 minutes no sweat leaping and running like crazy , even burdened by an old PP and Ray and a SLow Perk , could have pushed the Celtics to a Championship series . Easy contender.

KG without any doubt.  He's the one that has dropped off the most from his level at age 28.

Kevin Garnett without question.. That would be amazing! KG AVG's 7 years ago were 22.5 PPG and 13.5 Rebounds 5 APG 1BPG and 1SPG

I read the entire thread and I agree with each and every poster in this thread. To me that is a no brainer.

KG. Allen's at least as good a shooter now as he ever was, and Pierce is better, more mature, than he was at 28. ... I'd sure love to have a KG who not only sounded ferocious but acted it and played it.

Wow.  That's tough.

Gotta go KG though just because Ray and Paul are still so deadly

As the team is presently construed, I would actually take Pierce.  The Celtics need a big time scoring threat more than anything else and Pierce is  that player.  I realize KG has tailed off more than Pierce, but if the Celtics had a prime Pierce to be that go to guy and main scorer, I think they would be closer to a title and better situated going forward.

It's so obvious that I don't even mind pig piling on top of the previous thousand people who said the same thing -

Kevin Garnett, a billion times out a billion.

KG.
No question.
A 28 yr old All Star PF, a 26 yr old All Star PG, two 30+ former All Stars still playing at a high level.... Cs would be instant contenders, not just this year but for the next 3+ years, and a destination spot for all big name FAs. Of course, since we'd have to give KG a max deal, that would limit the amount of other money we'd have to spend....
But that would be a good problem to have.
Celtics fan for life.
