If you could magically change KG, Ray or Paul back to their absolute prime self, which one would you choose? And do you think that would be enough to make us serious contenders/favorites this year? So the rules are this team is exactly how it is right now but with only one of those guys at 28 years old. And time continues on like that so we'd have a 29 year old version of this player next year, and then 30 years old after that, and so on and so forth. Also you wipe the slate clean with incidental injuries, so in this alternate universe, paul isn't necessarily gonna miss a ton of games in 06-07 and ray allen doesn't have the ankle thing but completely random injuries may occur.

That being said, my choice would be KG. I really struggled between Paul or KG but ultimately i think i gotta take kg who won an MVP for a reason. I think that would make us about 6-7 wins better as opposed to turning Paul back to his prime self, cus of his monster defense and elite scoring. Now i know he wouldn't be putting up 24 ppg if he had ray and paul but he'd still most likely be a 21-14/20-13 guy for a few years and would be good enough i think to take any team in the nba to a 7 game series with a chance to win it all.

Edit: OK since looking back this is too easy, how about the choices are 28 years old for kg, but 23 years old for Ray or Paul? Maybe that evens things out a bit? My choice would still be kg cus of the guarantee of titles vs. potential of such a young Pierce or Ray coupled with rondo but that does make it a tougher choice no?

If its the fan in me speaking, Paul Pierce. If anyone on our team deserves to be 28 its him.

But the realist in me says KG. 28 year old KG was a monster.

A KG in his prime would make this team the best team in the NBA imo. Paul Pierce or Ray Allen in their primes would at the very least make the team a strong contender

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
28 year old KG is in my opinion, the greatest power forward of all time.

Without a doubt, KG.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Just echoing what everyone else said, but KG, hands down. Not really close for me.

28 year old KG:

22.5 ppg, 13.5 rpg, 5.7 apg, 1.5 bpg, 1.5 spg, .502 fg%, .811 ft%

Nasty.

In fairness to Paul, though, his 28 year old numbers:

26.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 4.7 apg, 1.5 spg, .4 bpg .471 fg%, .351 3p%, .771 ft%

Really good.

lol aritey then i thought there would be some takers for Pierce but i guess not. I am surprised that some people would choose Ray over Paul between them two that's a no brainer for me it's gotta be Paul. Anyone taking ray wanna explain that one?

KG, primarily for the increase in defense over Paul at the same age ... Paul can still put up the offensive numbers much more comparable to his 28-year-old self.
