How would it work if KG to Houston for their two first round picks in 2012. and a couple of players with team options? Houston could use a big such as KG and have too many young inexperience players in their first, second or third year. This make it hard for them to use their picks for mid first round draftees in order to make up the difference a trade exception to the celtics for the balance could be done is that right?  Just asking.

Houston couldn't make the salaries match without sending back someone like Martin or Scola, and that would make it a no go from their end.

I am thinking Thebeet, Jprdan Hill Dragic  Jonny Flynn, T Williams and Patrick patterson all would total 17.5 Mil with Houston two First round pick. all the players come with a team option or no contract in 2012 thus we could jettison all of them if necessary to get a chance at a super star. with our cap space this certainly would not hurt Houston since all the players are 2 or 3 on their depth chart. all we would want out of the deal would be the two first round picks.

Leaving aside that Boston wouldn't want most of this junk, they'd have to cut (and keep paying) 5 players before they could engage in a 6-for-1 deal. Not happening.

I get your drift. no deal with Houston for their picks I sure would like to get our hands on Houston two first round picks, however.

The only trade I could think of would be for Rashard's contract and something outstanding to go along with it to make giving up all that cap space worth while.

I agree.  That Lewis contract might be the L's worst.  I posted this trade a few weeks back, still would love to see it happen.

Javalle McGee
Rashard Lewis
/
KG
Steimsma

To me, the Celts are a young-shot-blocking-defensive-center away from being right back in the mix for a title.  Rondo is a stud, Ray hasn't lost a step, and even Paul is looking spry again.

I also think Ainge is smoking crack if he thinks DHoward is going to 'choose' Boston in free agency.  If we let KG expire, and don't get DHoward, we are really toast.

For Washington, with John Wall coming into his own, they need to turn the corner.  Clearly McGee/Blatche/Wall aren't meshing, so trading their way into the DH sweepstakes may be getting more inticing.  Heck, any chance to dump Lewis should have them salivating...

For us, I would think McGee and Bass could compliment each other well in a starting lineup alongside RR, RA and PP.

im not sure what the situation is like this year, but i rmr last year, there was this controversy in chicago about how boozer would be benched in favor of taj gibson.

if they are still much higher on gibson, they might be inclined to trade boozer to us for kg (they would throw some other crap in it too). thats the only contending team that i could see bite on kg as thibs wouldnt mind having kg on rental for the remainder of the year. it clears cap space for them to do whatever they need to do. i actually think they would love to do this trade.

ainge would never do this trade and kill our cap room heading into the future.

but, lets assume, the big names are off the market next summer (dh12, dwill). are there other names out there that would be better than boozer to sign next summer?

I had previously posted this trade, kg for R Lewis and a 1st. We only do this if Howard isnt a possibility this summer. We could then also trade ray for a player with one year left and wait till 2013 to jump into the FA market.

Yeah I think it's difficult to imagine a scenario where trading KG will net you something of true value in return.  Not sure if this would be a good idea, but how about something like:

KG, JJJ & Clippers 2012 1st round pick for Antwawn Jamison & Anderson Verajao.

Jamison provides a serviceable starting PF who expires at the end of the season and Verajao has been one of the best big men in the league this season and has a very reasonable contract through the next four seasons.

The only way I see someone wanting KG is the salary relief he would provide next year.

no trades possible unless you take back long term salary.

Other than the Portland trade (already mentioned) nobody even has enough expiring salary to match up.  He's essentially untradable.

Rashard Lewis is still owed $20m+ next year, and then is contract is up.  There's no way we would make a trade for him unless it was some huge multi-team deal that landed us a superstar (DH12 CP3 type player).

ESPN just came up with this one:

Somehow Denver has become the clear winner of the Danilo Gallinari (formerly Carmelo Anthony) trade. By our projections, the Nuggets have the fifth-best championship odds in the NBA right now. If they can add some defense, they could become the Western Conference favorite.

Needs: A big man to pair with Nene, preferably one who can add a defensive presence. Timofey Mozgov looks good on posters, but the problem is that he's on the wrong end of them.

Assets: Rudy Fernandez and Arron Afflalo are quality starting shooting guards, and they're young. Mozgov and Kosta Koufos are big and young, while Andre Miller adds a nice expiring contract. Denver even has an extra 2014 first-round draft pick it can deal.

The trade: Miller, Arron Afflalo and Mozgov to Boston for Kevin Garnett.

During the regular season, Garnett might not be able to run with the Nuggets, but once the playoffs roll around his defense, rebounding and leadership would be a huge help. His diminishing offensive game wouldn't be a problem for George Karl -- it's still far better than what Mozgov provides. Afflalo's shooting would pair well with Rajon Rondo and would be missed in Colorado, but you can't get one of the Big Three for free.

Anderson Varejao would provide a cheaper alternative if "The Big Ticket" proves too expensive.

I disagree with two things here: 1) That Varejao would cost less than Garnett to acquire, and 2) that Denver would consider trading Afflalo in exchange for KG.

If they would, I'd be there to answer the phone....

I wouldn't want Afflalo's contract unless there is another very attractive asset coming back to us.

How about a signed-and-traded wilson chandler?
