Avery had a normal post-draft offseason and regular training camp.
He had ankle surgery and was unable to participate in camp his rookie year. If I remember right he was still recovering from it when the season opened.

One thing he does well is he plays with in him self. Yeah he misses shots, but 90% of them have been good open with in the game shots. He may be in a slump because he was hitting those in the preseason.

He has looked better than Bradley did last year when he came in, so that could be saying some thing.

I don't think he'll be a superstar, but I could see him as a Dooling type point guard.
Or maybe preseason was an aberration?

This is the nature of shooters. You can't be over impressed by a game or two because their effectiveness averages out. Sample size is important.

Bradley looked completely lost last season so looking better than that is not saying much.

Well rather than argue the merits of AB vs EM, I'm just going to state that I'm pretty excited about the two of them.  I think DA has found himself two excellent cheap bench players for the 1 and 2 spots for the next few years.  Even if they don't become great players I think they are going to become valuable trade assets in rather short time.

We are going to draft the next "chosen one".  I think Moore and JJJ will be servicable.

I am impressed tonight.  Hopefully he can build on it.  But it still doesn't change the fact that he struggles to create space against NBA athletes.  He can absolutely hit wide open 3s against a team that is just screaming to be blown up, but I am not yet convinced he is long for this league...which I am not happy to say, because I absolutely love players like him.  Gritty, smart, no fear.  If he had Bradley's athleticism, he would be an all-star.

I don't think any of them will consistently be "the guy" off the bench, but they will each have their moments.

Moore could be a Chauncey Billups type player. Not super athletic; but so clutch.

Yeah, you're probably wrong. If anything, the rise of Quis and Pietrus is going to hurt Dooling. Doc said he wanted Keyon to play the 2 off the bench, so Moore and Bradley have mostly been going after the backup 1 spot. Our reserve wings are probably Pietrus, Daniels, Dooling - in that order.

so my friends are all telling how we screwed up by missing Norris Cole and Marshon Brooks...how they are good scorers

well we got ourselves E'Twaun Moore :)

thats was great

and btw, too early to determine if Moore is the greatest 2nd round pick

theres Monta Ellis, Carlos Boozer, Gilbert Arenas, Ginobilli, etc
