In my opinion Howard isn't coming here to play with Rondo and the old folks home. We'd need to add another All-Star level player in his prime to get this done.
It is possible but will probably require trading away one or two of our older former All-Stars to bring in someone to go along with Rondo that would make it appealing to Howard going forward.
Good points..but going forward, even if we don't touch our roster right now?
We'd have (next year):
A healthy Jeff Green.
Perhaps Josh Smith? He's close friends with Rondo AND Dwight, from what I've seen written.
KG and Ray Ray - resigned for a home-town discount, hopefully.
Rondo in his prime? As his jumpshot continues to improve? He's already showing signs of getting better in that area.
The wiley vet Captain Paul Pierce? Even at 35, he'd still be a dangerous SF.
An older Avery Bradley...Dwight MUST'VE been impressed by what he saw on Tuesday.
Not mention Bass and Pietrus...hopefully we could re-sign Bass. If anyone can get it done, Danny can.
We've seen Danny work his mojo before (Summer of 2007). He can do it again.
