Outgoing: Rajon Rondo, Keyon Dooling

Incoming: Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry

Warriors receive the best player in the exchange: a perennial all star, top5 point guard, and NBA champion. Mark Jackson sees a lot of himself in Rondo. A pass first Point Guard who likes dishing out dimes than scoring buckets. Uptempo offense Rondo will thrive.

As for the Celtics, lack of scorers remains their number 1 problem because Big3 can't be relied anylonger. God forbid Pierce misses any more games, this team is toast. Curry+Ellis provide much needed firepower for the Celtics. They instantly fix spacing issues plagued this team since big3 formation. Curry takes Rondo's spot in starting unit. Monta 6th man off the bench.

Curry/Avery/E'twaun
Ray/Monta/Marquis
Pierce/Pietrus/Sasha
KG/Bass/JJ
O'neal/Wilcox/Stiemsma

Why would the GSW trade one of the best young PG prospects in the game, who also happens to be one of the best shooters in the game, AND one of the best scorers in the game for Rondo?  Steph Curry and Monta Ellis is the type of package that would get a player like Dwight Howard, not Rajon Rondo.

LOL

Both Curry and Monta are a notch below Rondo as guards... why would Golden State trade away both of them? Technically they were one of the leagues most productive back court duo's.

Yeah, but GSW wouldn't. According to reports, Ainge offered Rondo for Curry in order to trade him for Chris Paul before the season. However, GSW declined the offer.

Maybe we can call Miami and see if they can give us Wade, Lebron and Bosh for Rondo (lol.) Just teasing the OP, but in all seriousness, there's no way GS trades BOTH Ellis and Curry for Rondo.

I am not even sure they trade one of the two for Rondo. Dooling isn't exactly going to entice them, either.

He's got to prove that that ankle isn't going to be chronically injured.  He's had something like seven injuries to it in two years, including three ankle injuries after off-season surgery.

Golden State doesn't seem inclined to do that trade either way, but acquiring Curry is no longer a no-brainer, in my opinion.

CP3 would be a Warrior right now if Golden State was willing to trade Curry. That was the only hold up from everything that I read was GS was reluctant to trade him. Even for CP3. I will bet you everything that CP3 has a higher value than Rondo, so if they don't trade Curry for CP3 they sure as heck aren't going to trade him for Rondo.

I'm less interested in Curry, given his issues. But if we can get Ellis in a salary dump type of deal,I'd roll the dice.

I think all three of the impact players involved need to play PG and are going to be highly paid for that position.

So no I wouldn't do that deal unless I could flip Ellis and/or Curry for someone else. The GSW have needed to do so since about the half way point last year but haven't pulled the trigger.

Although, in fairness, GS was reportedly willing to trade Curry if CP3 agreed to a contract extension, I believe.  There's an argument that Rondo on his contract is worth more than one year of CP3.

I think that Golden State already rejected Rondo for Curry, though, if rumors are to be believed.
