"I know it's a bad injury, and it sounds terrible, but I'll be fine," Deng said.

Thibodeau said no surgery is planned, but it's still an option. The coach described him as "week to week."

Methinks reports of the Bulls' demise are greatly exaggerated right now.

Makes a Pierce trade very enticing for Chicago.    Had to be said.

Also, Kobe supposedly is dealing with a torn ligament too.
A lot depends on what ligament it is, and what risk to your future you're willing to endure as a basketball player. Deng is only 26, that's a lot more career to risk than Kobe at 33.

They're still going to be an excellent team even without him, but it hurts.

We'll see if he's able to get back on the court.

This sucks.  Only going to make Miami's trip to the Finals that much easier

He is week to week. We will see how he does. Surgery might be inevitable. We will have to wait and see how he plays with the injury.

This certainly hurts the Bulls, but I couldn't see them reaching the Finals anyway ... they depend on Rose too much, and they barely put up a fight against Miami last postseason. Chicago's one of those teams (think Orlando Magic of the past few seasons) that's built to do great in the regular season but not built for the postseason.

Chicago survived prolonged absences from Noah and Boozer last season.  They've done well in the games Rose has missed this year.

Deep team.  I think Brewer/Butler will do well with Deng's minutes.

They do need Deng if they hope to beat Miami this year though.

Hopefully it will be as easy for them as winning the title was last year. There's a reason they actually play the games...

Maybe this mean's Scal will be promoted to the starting lineup.

Hey he started like 20 games in place of Kevin Garnett from '07-'10.  If he can replace Garnett, he can easily replace Deng  :)

I like to look at the glass as half full and think this puts the Celtics a Lebron torn ACL away from making people around here optimistic about a trip to the NBA Finals.

This should make attaining Paul Pierce their number 1 priority.  ;)

Oops, didn't see the prior Pierce references.  Sorry.

On an other note, the C's are 1 major injury in Miami from getting back into Eastern Conference contention.
