Now I like these trades but I'm not positive how fair they would be or even if they are good for us.
Here are my three trade ideas to move all of the big 3 and start over. Please post your thoughts and questions on my trades.

First Trade:
To Utah: Paul Pierce
To Atlanta: Brandon Bass, Alex Burks, Devin Harris
To Boston: Gordon Hayward, Josh Smith

I think Utah would need to give Atlanta a first.

Second Trade
To Minnesota: Ray Allen
To Boston: Anthony Randolph, Wesley Johnson, Wayne Ellington

Third Trade
To Philly: Kevin Garnett
TO Boston: Elton Brand, Nikola Vucevic, Jodi Meeks

Pietrus or Dooling could be added to even things up (if Dooling is added we would need to take on Lavoy Allen or send him to them for their trade exception in a second deal).

With KG his salary is so big that it will be very hard to move. The idea behind this trade is that Philly views KG as an upgrade from Brand (as do I) on a team that is ready to make their first bigtime playoff run. For our trouble we get a young center and a good young shooter.

KG is not an upgrade over Brand, Phily is not gonna break his chemistry, KG is certainly not worth Brand + 1st rounder and a good role player.

It's amazing how C's fans overrate the big 3. We are not in 2007 anymore guys.

First off thanks for replying to the post it sucks when you right something and no one reads it.

As far as kg being worth more than Brand, here it's my argument. 1. Even though kg is slower than he used to be he's still quicker and longer than brand that among other reasons makes him a better defender. 2. Brand might have better numbers but that is because he plays on a better team. 3. His contract is one year shorter.

As to my team having 19 guys, we would need to move back end guys in a similar way to how we dealt gody last year.

I don't think either of the first two are workable.

Utah won't harm their rebuilding process for a 33 year old Paul Pierce. Kevin O'Connor is a capable GM and has done a good job of building his club properly in the past (when Stockton and Malone left). I strongly doubt Minnesota will harm their rebuilding for a 3 month rental of Ray Allen but there is a small chance Kahn is that stupid. However, asking for all three of those young prospects is a non-starter.

The third trade may be possible. I don't think Phily includes Vucevic or Meeks though. They would rather give up their first round pick than him. He's a young quality cost-controlled seven footer. Those guys are valuable. Far more so than a first in the 18-23 range. As for Meeks, he's doing a decent job as a starter for them and they won't mess with their chemistry. They need his shooting to balance their lineups.

Elton Brand and a first for Garnett looks workable from Phily's stand point. However, paying Brand $14 million next year for a first round pick in the 18-25 range is excessive. I wouldn't green light that trade if I were the C's ownership. A high to mid lottery pick is one thing but a pick in that range simply isn't worth that added salary to next year's payroll.

So no to all three for me.

take out Heyward (Big draw in Utah) in the first deal and it makes sense...Burks is a nice prospect but Pierce is a big name and adds interest to the team. They don't sacrifice their most prized assets (Favors, Kanter) Pierce, Millsap, Al Jeff, with Favors/millsap hanging around is a great frontcourt. They would be a PG away from being contenders


A better idea for KG imo is Denver...Denver is stacked on wings with Gallo, Affalo, Rudy, Brewer, Hamilton and Chandler coming back. They don't need him at all. My idea is Chandler in an S&T, Andre Miller and Keneth Farid for KG and Dooling. KG gives them the leadership and post presence they need. Nene back to C, KG at PF, and the nuggets are much better.
