It might be doable without the first rounder. If so, yes. If not, doubtful.

We desperately need a man in the middle though. I'm not shy about not liking JO. It doesn't have to be the 2012 draft (which is stacked), maybe 2013 or a couple seconds or something.

I should probably have said JO + Assets for Blatche.

Blatche is a short-term boost (maybe, not even sure).

This team doesn't need that. It needs long-term rebuilding. Don't give up any 1st picks for a player like Blatche, you don't want the C's to turn into the new Wizards/Kings, do you?

not a first round, but I'd give up a 2nd
or Bradley, Stiemsma, Dooling, Wilcox
along with JO.

Not a chance.

Blatche is just not worth the headache.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
A headcase, lazy and a cancer.

But I'll do it.

Those things are fixable (I'm not saying it'll be fixed, but it can be). And you can't deny the ability he has.

Better that for me than a corpse. And I love JO. I just can't watch him and closing in KG, play anymore. Dray is trouble, but it's worth the late pick and JO's expiring for me. It can be fixed.

No

JO goes off the book next year.

Blatche is there longer and he becomes the veteran the rookies look up to when learning what it means to be an NBA player.

He's gonna be under contract till 2015. That's 6m, 7m, 7m and 8m every year. That's a reasonable contract. Plus if we can have him now, his issues could be fixed and be cleared headed come next season.

It is not about the numbers.

It is about the player.  I know to many Wizard season ticket holders that can't wait to see him go.  They want to get him away from Wall.

The media is the same way.

He fights with coaches.  He is afraid to go inside.  He refused to play defense.

He is one of the last players I want around the next set of young players the Celtics are likely to bring in to rebuild.

No disrespect to the Wizards but there ain't any personality in that locker room to contain that ego (I guess that's what it is).

Celtics, with the veterans and Doc, could be able to turn it around. We brought in some headcases during the past years. It worked pretty well. It could work with Dray.

For part of a season?

Then KG is gone and he is given the keys to the starting PF spot.

I think you are overestimating the abilities of KG, Pierce, Ray and Doc to  work a miracle in such a short time.  Even if the three of them were in their prime, I imagine it would take more then a season to adjust his game and attitude.  Now that they are on the slide, I doubt Blatche listens.

You have a fair point. I think that it could be fixed but your points are spot on. I rest my case.
