Perhaps we could catch the Knicks on a date they're particularly hungry and offer a 'pick 2' from Panera (their choice) for Amare.

What are you, nuts? Panera is faux hand-crafted gastronomic bliss. Maybe a 'Two For Twenty' from TGI Friday's, but that's only if they throw in Landry Fields.

remember this too, if you consider this year and next to be rebuilding years, then amare's contract is only a burden for the two years after that(in case he gets injured).  if you expect a faster rebuild than two years from now, then i would agree he is too much of an injury risk with that contract.

I knew this trade idea would come up for some boston player.

Amare is a scorer first and formost. I knew Mello (like Kobe) is ball hog. They are a poor fit . Period.

He has lost considerable agility and I think his back is still screwed up. He maybe in sorta of the same boat Larry Bird was in at the end of his career. Very Capable on nights he feels good.m and depressing to watch on nights of a bad back.

I think NY has over spent on him and he is not worth anywhere the money he was at Phenoix.

That being said , he might fit in with the older guys we have now.  Amare has to play slower /smarter ball .  He probally could provide the scoring punch KG and JO have lost , and they might make up for some of his lack of defensive concentration.

I would never sign him to more than a 1-2 year contract. His body going down hill fast

What about this trade w/ New York:

Quote
Bos Recieves: Amare Stoudemire, 6 'taste of the carribean shrimp' from Red Lobster
Bos  Sends: Endless pasta night at Olive Garden for two, two soft drinks (no refills), Avery Bradley

We get to build around Amare, the Knicks get to send 2 players on a night they won't soon forget and a young prospect in Avery Bradley

David Kahn would probably make that trade in a heartbeat too.

Hey man, this is the internet and we're supposed to be overtly reactionary. One of David Kahn's draft picks is really working out and another player he didn't draft is playing at an all star level. He also signed Anthony Tolliver.

We're Pro-Kahn now. Get it right or pay the price.

Im worried about his reoccurring back injury that sidelined him in the playoffs. Too much injury worries these few years.

You think I'm gonna forget Johnny Flynn? You think I'm gonna forget 4 years for Darko Milicic?

You think I'm gonna forget trading for Martell Webster, then burying him behind your lotto-pick who is coincidentally playing completely out of position at the 2 anyways, but you can't just let him sit because you've got another former lotto pick at the 3 already, and what's that? You just drafted a a third this year? AND WAYNE ELLINGTON?!

Not in this life, pally.

Not to mention continuing to allow his coaches to play Beasley at SF, where he absolutely destroys all the good work Rubio/Love/Anyone else does as far as winning goes.

No, don't want Amare unless it's for a bag of beans.

He's too injury prone and he's not that great when healthy.

I look at this graphic below and it reads

"Rubio, dude"

And then I just think about how brilliant David Kahn is and how stupid I was for doubting him.

For those who like the deal but don't think New York would go for it, would you consider adding on a draft pick or two to make it happen?

For those who are concerned about his knees, were you less concerned about Chris Paul's knee problems when he was talked about as a trade target?

I'm not convinced this is a good idea, but I definitely like it way more than making a similar deal for someone like Rudy Gay.  I like it less than if there was a way to turn similar assets into Pau Gasol if he falls out of favor in Kobe-land.

Honestly, I think you're at least two first round picks away from New York considering this trade, and even then I think they say 'no.'

I wouldn't trade for him because he's not a complete impact player. Amare has to score to be effective. He doesn't know how to score and defend all at the same time. he's not a good passer, the offense has to be all about him..great scorer but i wouldn't do it..too many cons
