Utah is one of the very few places a PP trade makes sense. They've got to move one of those bigs.

It makes sense except for the fact that PP has a no-trade clause, and why in heck would he waive it to go to Utah?

Because he doesn't want to spend the last few years of his career on a rebuilding team that won't sniff a title?

Pierce doesn't have a no-trade clause.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
If I'm an NBA player, and I get traded to Utah I would retire on the spot. That would be the one city I wouldn't want to play for.

And why on earth is that?!   ???
No booze. No caffeine (no Starbucks??). Tons of hot girls that save it for marriage. Sounds like hell on earth :)

From Marc Stein's Weekend Dime:

P.S. -- Pierce was eligible for a no-trade clause in his latest contract with the Celtics, just like Nowitzki, but Boston held firm in withholding one as part of a four-year deal worth in excess of $60 million bestowed on the 34-year-old in July 2010.
