In baseball if a bunch of spoiled brat steroided up wannabes tried to basically break rules and create a super team and screw their own teams in the process...I could totally see myself rooting for the Yankees to beat them. Not sure if this is the same thing, but processing some of the same emotions here
no rules were broken and they didn't screw their own teams at all. Everyone in the world knew Bosh wasn't going to re-sign in Toronto and Lebron did what he could to lure top free agents to Cleveland (no one, like Bosh, would go there). And the simple reality is, had Cleveland and Toronto actually put together championship caliber teams, they'd more than likely still have their superstar. Terrible management should never be rewarded.
We shall agree to disagree
Why do we only hear people ranting about this in basketball? If a team in MLB gets the 2 best free agents in a summer, there is no righteous indignation. Nobody makes any comments when NFL players pick teams to move to.
Why should NBA players feel guilty about doing what players can do in other sports with no complaints -- especially when the stars in the NBA have salaries that are capped way below their market value? Why should Lebron feel any guilt about going to a team with Wade when Pierce and Kobe were whining about their teams before the 2007-2008 season that featured the trades?
Why should players put their fortunes in the hands of owners and GMs?
