Using my phone right now, so I can't quote, but I wanted to respond to the previous comment about "moving on from the Perk trade".

I will move on when Danny is finally sent out the door in his rump!  Danny destroyed last years team, and killed its spirit going forward.  I will never forgive Danny nor forget.  There will be no resolution until Danny is gone.

Ok what about the two trades in 07-08.  Did u forget that?

Answer these questions. Would last years Celtics have beaten the Heat with Perkins? Would Perkins have stayed? Would you be comfortable rebuilding knowing you have 20 million tied up with two offensively challenged players? Not to mention the 15 tied up with Pierce? It sucks that Perk is gone, but move on please. Its a business, players get traded all the time some believe it or not are just as popular with their fan bases as Perk.

The one move I disagree with that Danny has made since the Big 3 era...drafting Giddings...6 picks later the Clippers selected DeAndre Jordan. That was the pick to make

Have you heard of defense? Rondo and Perk would've made a good tandem as far as defense is concerned and we were the best team at the time the trade happened. Possibly, we wouldn't have been better, but I would take #18 any day. Dallas beat Miami with defense. Lebron and Wade struggled with Chandler in the middle. Instead of Dirk, you have KG and Perk.

I've moved on, but that doesn't mean we can't look back and appreciate all that Perk did for us.

Danny Ainge is a joke. Straight up. He got lucky he had McHale give us KG (never happens if he could've got Robert Swift by the way). He shows no loyalty whatsoever and lies all the time. He cost us banner 18 and I'm not going to forget. I'm not an optimist, but last year was the first time I truly thought we were going to win it all and Ainge had to screw it all up.

I don't believe Rondo is completely offensively challenged any more TB, but overwise I completely agree with everything else you've said.

TP. I hope so too. I love Perk and miss him so much. Still can't get used to seeing him in another uniform.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Fact: starting group (Perk, KG, PP, Ray, and Rondo) has never lost a series. 2011 was their last opportunity to win a 2nd championship. Nothing is guaranteed, but i take my chance with that group against anyone.

Window was effectively shut the instant Perk trade went down. Big mistake. Ainge took his eye off the prize. He was too consumed losing Perk in the offseason. All we have to show for is a lousy pick, and no championship.

I mention Jordan because he fell in the draft and was supposed to be selected around that time. Asik wasn't an option since he was supposed to be selected around the time he was.

I appreciate everything Perk has done for this team, but lets not make him out to be Bill Russell 2.0 again. It was the right gamble to take and it blew up in Ainge's face. The same people complaining that Perk is gone would be the same people complaining about having to pay him 9 million a year to be part of a rebuilding process. I also don't understand the Ainge hate, he is a GM...he runs a BUSINESS...I'm sure all of your bosses are always 100% truthful about everything. Ainge felt that he could make a move that would extend the window and didn't feel comfortable giving Perk 9 million to be part of a rebuilding process. So far looking at it, not giving him 9 million was the right call.

He got an extended standing ovation and the loudest cheers at Rondo's charity game. I can't imagine tonight will be any different.

Why would you bank on a healthy Shaq though when he hadn't been healthy for three straight seasons....and was ALREADY having injury issues that season

If you ain't wearing green, I'm not rooting for you. Especially when you are playing the Celtics. :)
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I respect Perk, but he's with the enemy now. I wouldn't mind giving him props before the game but once the opening tip happens, Perk is just like any other player we have to face. I do hope that KG and company move on from "the trade" by beating the crap out of the thunder and at the same time, get us out of this major rut.

Agreed.

Hopefully tonight goes better than the last time one of our traded centers made a return to Boston.  Link.

He absolutely should get a long and loud standing ovation tonight.

The first time he throws an elbow at a Celtic he should also get boo'd.

That's how knowledgeable fan bases handle these kind of things.  Show your appreciation before the game and then once the game gets going treat him just like every other player in an opposing uniform.
