The Perkins trade has turned out to be a disaster.

Just on the basis alone that losing Perkins has changed the identity of this team.

We have zero intimidation factor down low on either side of the ball.

Perkins may not have been a great offensive force down low but he was a big body that occasionally could get into the paint and score on a half hook or turnaround.

Losing Perkins and Shaq has left a void at the 5 spot.

Using my phone right now, so I can't quote, but I wanted to respond to the previous comment about "moving on from the Perk trade".

I will move on when Danny is finally sent out the door in his rump!  Danny destroyed last years team, and killed its spirit going forward.  I will never forgive Danny nor forget.  There will be no resolution until Danny is gone.

Tonight, Doc's eyes watered up as he talked about Perk always being a Celtic. KG said he talks to Perk every other day and that Rondo and Perk talk basically every hour.

Perk was always one of my favorite Celtics so hopefully the crowd gives him a standing o. He'll always be a Celtic!

Still tough to swallow this one... Watching him grow and develop over what 7 or 8 years here. Getting completely frustrated with him on a nightly basis to seeing him grow into one of the best defensive centers in the league. This team lost its heart, intimidation factor, chemistry, and toughness when Perk was traded. He was the glue, wish I could build a time machine.

I have not forgotten 07-08.  Danny gets credit for the title.  For me personally, the trade and detruction of the team since, has undone any good will he had earned.

In a "what have you done for me lately sports world", Danny has failed of late.  Failed miserably.

Respect to Perk!

Agree with everything other than the last thing u said.  What if Perk ended up walking.  It just ended up being terrible luck what we got in return for Perk,  Jeff Green ended up having a heart condition that noone know about.

So one bad move Ainge ended up making is out weighed by all the really good ones he's made that lead up to it and the good moves he continues to make after it.

Ainge has made far more than just one bad move.  But, the one bad move in question was a colossally bad move.

You're right.  And since the trades that got us the new big three Ainge's good moves have far out weighed the bad.

I disagree.  Ainge's bad moves have outweighed his good moves.

This discussion has moved off-topic though.  It's my fault, I souldn't have brought it up.  Out of respect for Perk, I will end it here.

I realize not evryone shares my opinion of Ainge.  We'll just have to agree to disagree, and leave it at that.  Sorry.

To answer the OP, yes, I do hope, and expect, Perk will receive a monsterous ovation.  He has earned it.

Perk will always be a Celtic to me!

Yup you saw it clearly teams we had swagger and did that to in the pass trounced us, gettin to the lane at will, killing us down low, almost as to making a statement "..you guys don't have your enforcer down here I'm going to live in the paint" and they did and still do

Answer these questions. Would last years Celtics have beaten the Heat with Perkins? Would Perkins have stayed? Would you be comfortable rebuilding knowing you have 20 million tied up with two offensively challenged players? Not to mention the 15 tied up with Pierce? It sucks that Perk is gone, but move on please. Its a business, players get traded all the time some believe it or not are just as popular with their fan bases as Perk.

The one move I disagree with that Danny has made since the Big 3 era...drafting Giddings...6 picks later the Clippers selected DeAndre Jordan. That was the pick to make
