  • Rondo = Good

I think this trade doesn't help the team at all in the short run and will essentially be Rondo for Gortat, which isn't a good deal on any level. Nash adds an old, slower, less athletic player who's almost exclusively a jump shooter to the team. I don't read every post here but I don't recall too many saying that's what the team needs.

wrong thread?  ;)
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

the Celtics, as currently constructed, are more than good enough to compete for a championship.  the idea of trading anyone for Eric Gordon, Rodrigue Beaubois, Zaza Pachulia or any other half-wit shmo is a feeble attempt at humor, as far as i'm concerned.

this team, by all logical reasoning, should be a 2-time nba champion.  barring injury, there is no reason whatsoever to think they can't make another drive.  end of story.

I am probably in the rebuilding camp, but I just don't see the need to do it right away.   There is still a chance that this team improves.  The bench has some talent.  Ray looks 100%.  KG looked good to me against Dallas.  PP didn't have any pre-season -- he need some time.  Bottom line is that this team COULD be better than what we see now, which means that DA could focus on getting a missing piece (Varejao?) rather than focus on rebuild.  I say let the team play 25-30 games before deciding.

I'd like to see more of Pietrus but assuming PP and KG get more into form I'd say this is reasonable.
