maybe its me, but I think theres alot of over-reaction on this site...yes, we are 5-4 and at the moment dont look like a good team.

But I think its unrealistic everyone claiming how we are an 8th seed at best, how we arent even a playoff team, pierce, kg, ray allen are done.

what I see, is that we are a team that is NOT in game shape yet. its obvious out there that these guys conditioning(outside of Ray/rondo) is poor...and for an older team, its going to take time.

This team has too much talent top to bottom for me to believe they will be this bad in march/april..Even a month from now!

Paul pierce our leading scorer sat out half the fourth because he was gassed, missing layups and shots he usually makes. that is the time when usually he is in the game...and right now I dont think we are playing at 50% of what the team is capable of.

but, I think that in the end we will pull it together and eventually go on a pretty nice run..

we're 4-5, with bulls, pacers, thunder coming up.  based on how the team has played so far this season, we're looking at a 4-8 or 5-7 team come next tuesday.

make of that what you will.

We are 4-5. The Bulls game we could pull through IF Rose is still out. The Pacers game we have no prayer on. The only hope for the Thunder game is containing Durant. But considering how they went toe to toe with us last year, they are going to curb stop us in that game.

totally has nothing to do with my post at all...I dont think this team is playing anywhere near their potential because they clearly are not in game ready shape yet.

the question really is whether they can scrape up a good enough record before they get it together to grab a decent seeding or not.

as Pierce starts to get his legs under him I think we will be a MUCH better team. Rondo CANT carry us every night..KG is what he is 14ppg/8rebounds

I believe the resurrection will come. This team looks good together. Yes,our vets look old can't do what they use to but the injection of a scoring bench with Bass,Peaches,Dooling and ....wait for it......Bradley. Yes. This team will meld and contend.

I like our chances vs. the Bulls/Pacers honestly..the bulls offense has been just as anemic as ours thus far..and I think pierce is due for a decent game.

the point is, this "overreaction" you're talking about doesn't seem like that much of an overreaction considering what looks to be lying ahead in the near future for this team.

There is no reason to continue to build on the OLD GUYS , there time as come and gone, thank you .

oh please give me a break..Time for over reaction is GONE.. time to be realistic.

The time is for "ACTION" or a new plan to rebuild the team.

I would rather be the door matt with a bunch of young draft picks and have hope ...than to continue on this sinking course that has no hope of getting any better.

I don't think it's overreaction at all. Moral victories can only get you so far. Sooner or later you need to get some good wins. I think they'll get their legs under them more as the season goes but the problem with that is the schedule only gets tougher. Just thinking about that long road trip scares me.

I have to ask this question: Why is it that the Celtics are the only team that is not in game shape? They appeared in game shape when they beat three of the worst teams in the league. I guess they are just not in game shape when they play teams that are better than they are. They will make the playoffs, but 6th through 8th seed is looking like reality, with a first round out. Cannot wait until the trade deadline to see what Danny does.

By the way, neither Dallas nor the Celtics are real contenders. Celts are likely to be 4-8 after 12 if Rose can play Friday night. And remember, they have more home games in January than in every other month.

Getting #18 a few years ago would have made this transition easier.

If I know Danny at all, he won't just leave things as they are if this team is still hovering around .500, unless there are just no real trade options for him out there.

boston clearly isnt the only team not in game shape....dallas isnt either...its clear from their record.

theres been some bad basketball played so far all across the league..and IMO it has to do with the short off-season...the athletic teams are definitely having a much better start

If the celtics are playing this bad a month from now, ill come back and eat my words..but if like I expect they pull their stuff together and start playing to their potential talent..ill be back to say that as well

what if it takes them another month to really round into form and at that point they're 5+ games below .500 with a little over half the season left to go?
