I know everyone is always dreaming up scenarios of Dwight Howard in green. While that would be great, the guy I really want is Kevin Love. The man would be awesome on the C's. I went to a pac-10 school and have had the pleasure of following him since UCLA. It would be a nice foundation of him, rondo, and jeff green for the future.

So my question is, is this possible? I believe he's a restricted free agent this coming off-season and I believe we will have cap space.

(I hope no one takes this the wrong way as a call for a KG replacement amidst all these depressing KG threads. I just want to know if we could get Love)

If DA channels his inner "Red" then possibly. I'm wondering how we would trade for him cause Minnesota won't go for anything we have.

Not a prayer.  Minny has their first cornerstone since KG.  They will match any and every offer..

This is likely true, but if we DID want him, we should offer him the max on Day 1. In the new CBA Minnesota will have less time to match and might chicken out from spending that money when everyone else on their roster is very affordable. Rubio and Williams are under control through 2015 so it's plausible Kahn would choke...

Just wanted to add, for Love lovers out there... pray that Derrick Williams becomes the much cheaper PF of the future in Minnesota, and that they can't live with Love at center.

Dear Mr. Kahn, you should bet your future on Rubio / ?? / Beasley / Williams / ??. You'll have tons of money to spend on a SG and C, so let this Love guy go. He can't defend anyway, and are you REALLY ready to have a max player? That never got you anywhere with Garnett...

Minny would be pretty dumb to let him go. Though, Kahn is their GM, so who knows. I can dream..

I read that he might want to take the QO from Minny and become Unrestricted in 2013

Minny ought to lock him down at the end of the season. They are competitive in a tough conference. I was thinking of KG going back there and taking the veterans minimum after this season and working with Love
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I think he enjoys it up there too.  Love played basketball with Rick Adelman's son in HS and he is friendly with Adelman.  They're a young team with a bright future, I think Love may wanna stick around a little longer.
do it

Not unless K.Love refuses to sign an extension with Minnesota and Minny's front office capitulates and decides to sign and trade Love instead of simply matching any offer given to Love as a restricted free agent.

That's the only way I see it happening.  I can't see Minny letting their best front court player go though

I think we have the automatic rights to any top tier Minnesota PF's named Kevin.

based on his production and versatility, Love is the definition of a max contract player imo. i would absolutely love to see this guy on the Cs but the chances of that happening are slim... with that being said, if anyone can muster up a miraculous out of the blue trade to get him i think that person is DA.

i hope Minny is stupid enough to refrain from offering him an extension before the deadline. like someone stated earlier, we should offer him the max on day 1 to put the pressure on Minny to match early on.

a core built around Rondo and Love would be a great start to the rebuilding/reloading process
