To the Owner,

Keep Doc , Danny , Bass and Rhondo.

Trade the rest of the team , waterboy, pompom girls and the bus driver for Kevin Love.

Thanks

two reasons Love is consistently underrated:

1. he's unathletic (and white)
2. he's not a great defender

yet, who else in the league can put up 25 pts and 10+ rebounds every single night while nailing shots from all over the floor, including a high percentage from outside?  he's one of the most productive players in the league.  not to mention he's been so productive offensively despite playing without a single playmaker for most of the past few years.

The scary thing is it's actually more like 15RPG. This guy is the best rebounder in the league, and has a ceiling of something like 30 / 15 with 40% 3PT and 90% FT. He has weaknesses, but the offensive numbers he's capable of are right up there with LeBron & Dwight Howard.

I'll tell you what would be interesting. Minnesota offering Howard a max deal next year, to play with Rubio / Williams / Love. Howard and Love would be the top 2 rebounders in the league playing together, a perfect inside / outside combo on offense, Howard's defense would cover for Love's... unreal. Too bad there's not a chance in you-know-where of Dwight taking his talents to Minneapolis.

Of course I'd rather see Love & Howard in Boston together, but that doesn't exactly leave room for any of the Big 3... a guy can dream right?
That combination I want as well. If KG is willing to go to the bench, Ray can still start. O'Neal would go to the bench as well. Hell we would have more than a Big 4. It would be a big freaking nightmare for everyone else.

He would be awesome for this team. I'd start him over KG.

there aren't many power forwards in this league I wouldn't start K-Love over.
I'd feel bad for Minnesota losing another PF but oh well. Pity doesn't bring banners.

I think Love will stick around.  As bad as the Timberwolves have been, things are looking up now, and Love has to like what he's seeing from Rubio.  Not many teams he could join with a promising young passer like that.
except for this one?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think the wolves should use their cap space and one of Beasley, Williams, or Johnson to pursue a sign and trade for Wilson Chandler.

Then, look for a legit 2.

Rubio/ridnour
Legit 2/barea
Chandler/Williams
Love/Williams
Milicic/love/pekovic

With a little luck it's a playoff team in 13.

The fact that Love is so young makes him extremely desirable, but i still think Zach Randolph is a better PF than him. Guy had 5 20-20 games and actually lead a team into and deep into the playoffs.

Pau is still pretty [dang] good.

Besides all the other stuff, the fact that Love is shooting over 41% this year from 3 and all of last year too, is pretty astounding. Especially for a guy who is already sick in the post.

The whole concept of KG sitting is unreal. Simply because The Big Three is the core of the team and remains The Big Three until retired. Which means at least 2 more years. The only reason why you people keep saying KG is getting old is because you look at his age and not his game.

Even if we trade for Kevin Love and get him, without trading away our starting five, we still keep KG on the starting team because he's much, much more experienced, better defender and, again, part of that group. But also because our second unit can already score as much as the first. Imagine the fear factor of Dooling's shooting abilities, Avery's defense, Daniels' defense and penetration, Bass' shooting and Kevin Love's rebounding on both ends and shooting. Oh, and also, Avery can shoot.

On one side you have the experienced team that knows every trick in the book and can still play like they did 10 years ago, and on the other you have a young, athletic, hungry team that sounds better than 90% of the first teams in the league.

The only way Kevin Love would get starting position would be instead of Jermaine, but only if he's injured. It's not about the privilege of starting as much as each group's impact and style of play.

why join this one, though?  after this season, there will be much more young talent on the Timberwolves than on the Celtics.  Plus, the T-Wolves can offer him a good deal more money.

He is in no way the best 4 in the league. Griffin and Aldridge are better; and Dirk still is until he regresses. When/if Pau finds his balls and starts playing like he was in the first half of last season, he would still be better.

I think the fact that if he agreed, he'd have to spend another 5 years with the Minnesota Timberwolves takes away the advantage of more money.

I don't think even Love actually thinks he's the best 4 in the league . . . but like he said, if you're a competitor, you have to play with the attitude that you are the best in the league at your position (or just the best in general).  I don't think there's anything wrong with him saying that.

That said, I would put him above Aldridge and Griffin because of how well rounded his game is.  I think Dirk is still ahead of him because of his elite 1 on 1 scoring ability.  Pau is capable of playing like the best PF in the league, but he doesn't seem to reach that level consistently (he was there for most of the 2010 post-season, and only intermittently since).

I can think of one in the North East, about 50 minutes up Route 95 from my house, which does.
