lakers have same record as us, and portland is #1. the season is awkward.

welcome to the condensed season.

part of it, though, is that both the C's and Lakers are simply legitimately worse than they've been the last few years.

Portland is really good. I think they are going to destroy the celts.

Teams that look legitimately better than the Celtics right now:

Heat
Bulls
Thunder
Blazers
Nuggets
Hawks
Magic
Clippers
Pacers
76ers
Spurs

As so many predicted, though, it really looks like the Heat and the Bulls are a couple cuts above everybody else.

My prediction stands at 35 wins for the season.

7th seed? 8th? Maybe 1 playoff win if we make it in?
Bruh u cant be serious??? lol everytime we lose this forum hits the panic button this was a terrible game but 7th or 8th seed? nah man

bruh I am quite serious. I'm not panicking, this is merely my appraisal after the first 8 games. This type of game will befall us a lot more often this year than in years past, and I don't see us ever beating the Heat again, to be honest, in any scenario short of a miracle.
I already have my expectations of a 2nd round exit so I wont get too high or too low over losses like these. Today we weren't severely outplayed we just had horrendous rebounding nd missed a lot of shots tht usually go in for us we got 4 days off nd Im confident we'll make adjustments this game was an anamoly for Pierce bet you he'll bounce back strong on wednesday we got sumthin for the Pacers next week
The thread title is accurate, and it's not based on just one game.  When the C's were 0-3 without Pierce, I figured he would pull them up to .500, and that's pretty much what has happened.

For the first time this season, I am starting to think ahead to the off-season and next year.  I refused to do so up to now, but now I can't help it.

Teams that look legitimately better than the Celtics right now:

Heat
Bulls
Hawks - They will fold.
Magic
Pacers
76ers

That puts us 6th in the Eastern Conference which is manageable. If Pietrus can play, if we can get consistent play at C, and if we can figure out our back up PG situation we'll get better.

The most important thing is that we can stay healthy. JO is going to be an issue, but we need everyone else. Rose is going to be battling injuries because of his style of play and lack of support. The Heat are going to be battling injuries because of their lack of depth. The Magic are going to implode at some point because everyone knows Dwight's trying to leave. I think we can beat all of those other teams in the playoffs as we are now. We're not the favorites, but we've got a shot.

Well, we'll see who's standing in June. That's my measuring stick.

The Sixers and the Magic both look like considerably better teams right now.  I wouldn't expect that to be the case in the post-season, but I think both of those teams are built for more regular season success in this condensed regular season.

we can really beat up on teams that aren't good and these terrible teams make us look super good. Against teams that can play, we are going to continue to have trouble....

4 wins - Washington twice, Detroit, and New Jersey... Ugly.

Think carefully about what that means and you'll realize: you can't expect this team to win more than half its games.

4 and 4 . . . let me think . . . by golly, you're right; that's .500.  Wow, it also means that they've won half their games.

Thanks, I never would have figured that out if you hadn't prompted me to think carefully about it.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I know we lost a game tonight, but lads is this kinda comment really nessesary? its so condesending and negative.
