Think carefully about what that means and you'll realize: you can't expect this team to win more than half its games.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

My prediction stands at 35 wins for the season.

Just based off of this game?

7th seed? 8th? Maybe 1 playoff win if we make it in?

Lowest they go is 6th in my opinion.  I think if they're healthy they'll still have a shot at upsetting a 3rd or 4th seeded opponent in the first round.  Nowhere to go after that, though.

The season so far. Not so much our record, but the way the players have looked on the court suggests that we are capable of extremely intermittent flashes of our past brilliance, but for the most part have aged to much to score or defend effectively.

Do we still have a day off in between every playoff game? That'll be key. I went lower than 6th because the east seems a little deeper this year.

Rediculous overreaction to one game...if were using early season success or lack of as a barometer then the lakers and mavs and knicks are out of it as well...and its just not true on all counts..

We'll be better.  Things are up and down for a lot of teams right now.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

bruh I am quite serious. I'm not panicking, this is merely my appraisal after the first 8 games. This type of game will befall us a lot more often this year than in years past, and I don't see us ever beating the Heat again, to be honest, in any scenario short of a miracle.

Predicting around 35 wins isn't ridiculous considering the incredibly high number of back to backs and 3-in-4s the Celtics are going to have to play.  Because of the condensed schedule, they're going to drop a lot of those games, especially against young, quick, athletic, long teams like the Pacers, Sixers, Nuggets, Blazers etc.

This regular season is going to closely resemble the 2009-2010 regular season, only the Celtics won't be able to say that they're losing because they're not trying.

The lakers are out of contention. The Knicks need to right their ship, but they have the fundamental tools and players on their roster to improve their situation. We do not. Our health is at its near maximum right now and will only continue to deteriorate. Fatigue will also drag on us more than younger teams. This is not a reaction to one game.

I already have my expectations of a 2nd round exit so I wont get too high or too low over losses like these. Today we weren't severely outplayed we just had horrendous rebounding nd missed a lot of shots tht usually go in for us we got 4 days off nd Im confident we'll make adjustments this game was an anamoly for Pierce bet you he'll bounce back strong on wednesday we got sumthin for the Pacers next week

This is the season that the inability to cultivate young supporting talent over the last couple of years is going to come back and bite us.  That's how the Spurs will continue to win games without Manu and the Celtics will hover close to .500 even without major injuries.
