Quote
With rival executives doubting that the Magic would be interested in the Nets' offer of Brook Lopez and draft picks for Dwight Howard, it could be that Deron Williams is already frustrated in a losing situation in New Jersey.

"I don't think he feels it there," said a person familiar with Williams and his tendencies. "I could see him saying, 'I've got all the money. I can go back to Dallas. That's my home.' I don't see any spunk in his game right now. He's going through the motions."

There is another thread about trading Rondo for Deron Williams, but thought it was worthy of posting

The C's will have a much better supporting cast than Dallas will. PP is equivalent to Dirk(Dirk is slightly better). Then add a great shooter like Ray and KG who will be an elite role player. You would still even have cap room to add another big time free agent.

I think Danny really has to go for this trade, We would be legit contenders this year and have our centerpiece for the future with cap room to add good talent. If you trade for him, it's almost a guarantee that he resigns IMO because the c's would have his bird right and be able to offer more than Dallas. Dallas has nothing to trade for him .

The only PG i would trade for is Chris Paul. I'm not Rondo's #1 fan, but I think it's dumb to try to mix up team chemistry especially in a 66-game season.

I love Deron's game, but I hate his attitude.  From what I've heard, he's legitimately even harder to deal with than Rondo - and that's saying something.

I don't like Deron based on that whole Sloan debacle.

That's a big part of it for me as well.  I've read a bunch of articles about him that paint him as this self-absorbed guy who isn't even really friendly to his own fans.  I doubt he's quite as bad as it sounds, but where there's smoke there's usually fire.

Similar to the Marbury episode for me - if he somehow ends up here I'll root for him, but I don't really want him on my team.

I would be unhappy too if I had his starting lineup at the beginning of this season.

Deron
Brooks
Damian James
Humphries
Petro

That is a pretty putrid starting 5 and Lopez is the softest big man in the league.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'd be pretty upset if we traded rondo for dw, evenif he signed an extension. I'd be bloody furious if we traded for him without him signing, especially with the way he's been reacting to being pushed around from Utah to new jersey.

Brooks didn't start until the game against the Celtics.

no one would be happy in new jersey. i was at the game wednesday and they are just terrible. it was pretty obvious that the celtics were just going through the motions and we still won by 19... i don't blame him for being upset when NJ did nothing to get him players to ball with

  • Rondo = Good
The C's will have a much better supporting cast than Dallas will. PP is equivalent to Dirk(Dirk is slightly better).

Paul Pierce is NOT equivalent to Dirk.  Come on now.

I don't agree with you Pos.  I think Dirk is probably slightly better because he is just so hard to match up with, but Pierce is a better play maker and is definitely a better defender.  Dirk is no defender.

Dirk earned some big points last year for being so clutch to me, but I think it's ridiculous how over inflated it became with the comparions to Larry Bird.  Dirk is no Larry Bird.  He doesn't have the over all skillset on offense alone, nevermind that he is, again, no defender.

Not too far off at all and if not for last years playoffs even closer.

dont forget Dirk might be the very worst defender at his position ever
