Ever see Rondo, with his off hand, dribble all the way behind his back and continue to dribble with the same hand at full speed when he's on a break? Why not perfect that move next?
For one, it's a generally useless show-off move.
Then, he's palming the ball half of the time, but I guess such technicalities are not important in today's NBA.
To address your first point: The thing about flashy behind-the-back stuff is not the act itself but rather when (or if) it's applied in a game situation. Fancy plays can be the best thing a b-ball player contributes out on the court. It's knowing
*when* to use those "Globetrotter moves" that differentiates a
good basketball player from an average basketball player.
Point II: Rondo palms, LeBron travels, Kobe bi0tches. If you watch the NBA you know rules are applied differently depending whose hands the ball is in. Our plight is to deal with it.
