Who would you prefer as Celtics' 2nd string center, Stiemsma or Wilcox? I personally like Stiemsma more, he's just a smarter player than Wilcox, and his defense is the real deal.

O'Neal
KG can make up for Stiemsma's weak spots so I'd rather start him.  He would bring some youthful energy to starters.  Then a combo of Bass & O'Neal gives you a low post presence who can hit the jumpers and a slasher who has shown he's good at pick & pops.
Knowing Wilcox is still not 100% I'd say wait and see what he can offer but as of now he's 3rd string no matter who starts (which means 4th string as KG has been finishing games at center)

Wilcox is a PF but he did well today. JO playing limited minutes with Stiemsboat and Wilcox sharing the load is another idea.

Stiemsma looks to have another 50% improvement room in himself especially if he bulks up some. The guy is always moving looking for action. Wilcox's improvement level is flatline. It makes for nice options with all the bigs now. Perk never had much of a chance scoring, too mechanical, and bad hands.

I think Wilcox needs to be tried out first. If he can't get it going or if Stiemsma continues to tear it up, than make a change. Stiemsma will still be here.

Both.

Tommy made a good point last night.

He said that they were playing Wilcox because he hasn't had the playing time because he has been injured and needed it to get acclimated to the team. This will be good for the team in the long run because we will need him for a bunch of reasons(grinding schedule, JO's physical question marks, etc).

In the long term, also play both, depending on the matchups and KG in spots.

I have a feeling Stiemer will get a number of games starting, because JO will likely get injured and he's a good fit with the starting unit and their style of play.

Would Doc go so far as to bring JO off the bench?  I think there's about a 50/50 chance of it as the season goes on.

Havent seen enough sample size but judging by body size I would rather have Wilcox go against larger centers like Howard.  He seems to be a bigger presence inside.  Stiemsma has a great feel though, and I like his sneaky quickness.

We will need both of these guys throughout the regular season.

In the playoffs, I think Steimer against Miami, NYK, and Wilcox against teams like IND, PHI, etc.

I like Wilcox coming off the bench first but Steamer has been putting up a good reason to go against that thought. I like the idea of both of them getting time depending on matchups. Both bring very different things to the table and a different style to the center position. Its really nice to have three center options for us, its been quite some time when we havent been completely undersized up front.

Difficult question to answer right now.  Wilcox has been invisible in his brief stints on the floor other than some solid work on the boards, but past precedent would indicate that he has a lot more offense to offer.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Depends on what we need.  Stiesmsa is a better stopper than Wilcox right now.   I still think Wilcox will be a better scorer by the end of the year, stats be [dang]ed now.

Wilcox seems to have a stronger base to play defense than Steamer. Greg has more energy, though.

How about whoever is playing better at the time.
