We've got a couple of role players who can take up minutes at the center position behind JO.  This is a nice thing, and one that it didn't necessarily look like we'd have a month of so ago.

It doesn't matter to me who gets more minutes as long as our bigs play defense, rebound, set picks, and score the ball on the occasions where they are put in positions to do so.

My guess is that if JO and Wilcox are both healthy, Greg will be pushed to the third string for a while.  Then, everyone will be screaming for Doc's head on a platter.

Greg will keep himself ready, though, and when one of the guys in front of him goes down for a few games, he will perform admirably.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

This is what I see happening too.

Let's keep in mind that Wilcox is an established NBA veteran who's gone to battle against all the superstars in this league at one point or another.  Stiemsma has been very effective in his limited playing time, but it was also against bottom of the barrel teams.  It's going to Wilcox'es job to lose in my opinion.

Stiemsa was our backup C ahead of Wilcox last night for the first half. Take a look at the gameflows.

http://popcornmachine.net/cgi-bin/gameflow.cgi?date=20120104&game=NJNBOS

Then when Jermaine picked up his fourth foul early in the third quarter Doc brought Bass of the bench and we went small with Bass at C and the C's went on a the run that won them the game.

(Though my league pass feed went out in the third quarter so I didn't see whom KG guarded and whom Bass guarded my guess is that Bass took Okur but I could be wrong and KG could have been the "Center")

I think who gets playing time will depend on where Doc wants to deploy Bass at C or PF (especially if he keeps playing this well).

As a tangent if Doc does go with KG or Bass at C then Wilcox/Stiemsma are both 3rd string for all intents and purposes it just becomes a match up decision as much as anything.

this will become more of an issue if the C's bring in another C, as many are expecting (PRAYING!!!) that they do.. I like what i've seen from Stiemsma, but Wilcox has been a starter in this league and has been effective.  my guess is that wilcox will end up being the more dependable player, but Stiemsma's shot blocking ability is really phenomenal, so who knows..

I have a few minute distributions I'd like to see Doc go with based on situations when we have injuries or are resting players.  This would be in games we want to win and presuming no garbage time.

On nights when all players are healthy:

PF: KG (20) / Bass (28)
C: JO (22) / KG (10) / Steimsma (12) / Wilcox (4)
*Wilcox or Steimsma pick up the other's minutes if one is out

On nights when JO rests (I'd like to see this occasionally):

PF: KG (20) / Bass (28)
C: Steimsma (22) / KG (10) / Wilcox (16)

On nights when KG rests (would like to see at least 5 times this season):

PF: Bass (30) / Wilcox (18)
C: JO (24) / Steimsma (24)

Bass has been awesome and gets no nights off  ;D
