I feel like if there's not more American born white players, they are at least better now than in more recent years.  Maybe I'm wrong.

I would venture to guess that there's a greater number of mixed-ethnicity players in the NBA than in the past, however.  Guys like Blake Griffin, Stephen Curry, and Kris Humphries are representative of the NBA's future, I think.

Agreed on the mixed race thing, you're going to see more and more of that and that's a good thing.  The bad things is crap like First Take trying to debate if they see Blake Griffin as white or black... ughhh such crap.  I hate that show and Skip Bayless so much.
Woah woah woah.  First take debated if Blake Griffin was white or black?  Unreal. I mean there are only kids starving and people trying to steal billions of dollars and elections out there.  And they let Skip Bayless near that?  Tim Tebow this is nuts

On a side note .. just where does Millsap think the ball is?
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Hopefully I'm not taking this into a dangerous area of debate, but just because you recognize race doesn't mean you are racist or something.  There is nothing wrong with simply pointing it out.  As a white person, I could care less what race players in the NBA happen to be but there is no harm in talking about it.  If we are so afraid to discuss race then I think we make it a bigger issue than it should be.

haha I think you are right about how it could of been worse (though Skip is still the absolute worst, I'm with Barkley there) but the fact that it was even a question is ridiculous in itself.

He is mixed race, that's that.

I guess we're all entitled to a slow news day.  I mean it was either that or aNother Tim Tebow thing.

Sometimes I think it's like at ESPN they were like "Let's make a minor league show of our worst talent and see what happens. Like we'll put Skip Bayless and Michael Smith in there a lot and hope they cancel out and just see what happens. I mean maybe 15 years from now when the PTI guys retire they'll be ready for something better."

I dont think theres an increase in quantity - but the American born, white players (whatever kind of stupid classification that is) do seem to be a little more relevent now than 5 years ago

TP for someone making sense. Recognizing a situation with regards to race does not make you racist. The fact that anybody does "not see the point" or the problem is trying a little too hard. This country, much like this blog is VERY PC when it comes to touchy issues even when they are not being looked at in a negative way. It's someones opinion
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Quite honestly, I haven't really noticed. Last time I checked, the #1 pick in the most recent draft was black. The influx of international talent didn't just happen yesterday either, they've been coming around for a while now.

Maybe more diverse, or "global", with players from different races and countries, but not really more white.

I don't care what the demographic is.  I care about the quality of play.  I, however would love to reduce the demographic of blind officials.
