When reading on others posts throughout CB, I saw statements like 'He'll never have a good game.' So Celtic high 19 pts and 7 boards doesn't do it with bringing home a first win. Not to mention he looked young while setting picks for Ray and cutting for a bucket!

edit: If ignorant, read my paragraph again, please. I never said he'll continue with those stats in the season.

Fool's gold.

He had a good game.  That doesn't make him any less fragile or reliable.  He still isn't a player than can be counted on to produce.  He hasn't been in five years. Danny signed him anyway.  Former allstar, big name.  Will still have occasional throwback games like old, worn-down players sometimes do.

Then when he puts up a stinker in the playoffs, he'll claim afterward he was hurt.

I think they are still discussing him in another thread.

Lol they didnt even have a Center. That was only one good game, if he continues tho.. That would be something!.

I would say Greg Monroe is a center...

I dunno i just dont see him as a Center, his game reminds me more of somebody playing the PF position..

I'm right here.

I'm sorry, but one good game against a team as bad as Detroit, which has quite possibly the weakest frontline in the NBA, does not prove much of anything.

I want to see JO do this against a quality opponent with an actual formidable frontline.  I can't remember the last time JO has done so.

It's nothing personal against JO, he seems to be a good guy.  He's a hard worker, by most accounts, and does not deserve the "quitter" or "soft" label some give him.  His biggest problem is he's not a starting caliber center.  It's not his fault he's been pigeon-holed into that role as a result of Ainge's poor roster decisions.

he averaged 13ppg 2 years ago for Miami...offensively he can produce if he gets shots. and if he can be a factor offensively it makes our team that much better...because teams cant just ignore JO

theres not many teams with quality centers out there these days

honestly I think he looks more durable out there this year

Would you trade JO straight up for Perkins right now?  I would think twice.  We get zero offense from Perk, and the team defense seemed to function quite well last night without him.

Getting overly down on JO after a bad game or two is overreacting.  Getting overly high on JO after a good game or two is also overreacting.

Nice game from JO last night but he'll need to do it consistently, and against better competition, to help the team the way we need him to.

WOW!

JO for Perk would be grand theft.

I would hope our defense functioned well against Detroit.  Detroit is one of the bottom 5 teams in the league.

I'm a doubter because his first 3 games this year provide plausible reason for doubt.

Is this a 1 game aberration, or are the first 3 games more of what we'll see?

Who knows, but I'm not ready to label him a solid player yet...

JO like our other older players on some nights will resemble the players they once were.  The problem with older guys is that they cannot do so consistently.
