what makes you think anyone will take KG's $22 mill contract?
It's an expiring contract... that means we might be able to get something like... Okafor's bad contract and Trevor Ariza for KG if we include draft picks.
so you want to acquire a bad contract tied to a mediocre center and journeyman swingman and give up a ton of cap space next year?  Why?

This would be the type of trade Ainge would except.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bqsfzk2

Some younger potential pieces that are not long term contracts.
Hahaha the Jazz get screwed here, they just got all the young pieces they want so why would they want two washed up guys with awful contracts?  And I couldn't see KG starting over Favors and Battie over Kanter either.

They wouldn't want KG or Battie starting over Favors and Kanter.

They get their young big men on the court.  They create cap space next year.  They likely get a better draft pick.

Yeah, it is a dream scenario of a trade, but that's the level of offer that will likely be needed to see KG move.

The Celtics are not going to take back bad contracts.  (Lewis, Johnson, Ariza, Okafor, Magette...)

I don't want to... I'm saying that's the long-shot type of options the Celtics would have.  KG is washed up... his value is nothing more than an expiring contract at this point... unless it's a trade to Dallas (in which case you can expect to get back nothing more than Brandon Haywood and SHawn Marion... both who are washed up and stink)

Okafor and Ariza makes sense, because I can imagine the Hornets freeing up as much salary space as possible to make the team more attractive to sell.

Regardless of where KG's expiring contract is dealt ... After the trade I would expect him to get bought out and join a team like the Lakers/Mavericks/Heat...

Wrong.  you dont blow our cap space for that trade. the dip in kgs performance is (1) it taking older players longer to get into shape just like the lakers, mavericks, an the suns. (2) kg has very little support from the center spot. Shaq retiring combined with trading erden and having nenad bolt for russia turned a strength into a weakness.

Lastly how can we play a tom thib style defense(with all the rotating and helping) when it obvious the bigs are at a stage im their careers where they do not have the footspeed. it would more effective to play zone all game.

kg still has game we are just asking the impossible from him right now. no thanks on the kg trade...

Here are the type of pipe dreams I could see getting at the trade deadline for KG's expiring contract IF the other team got desperate to unload salary and free up cap space in 2012:

KG's 22 mil expiring and draft picks to:

Charlotte:
Ty Thomas - 7-9 mil for the next 4 years
+ Corey Maggette - 10 mil for the next 2 years

Hornets:
Okafor - 12-14 mil for next 3 years
+ Ariza - 7-8 mil for next 3 years

Atlanta:
Joe Johnson - 18-25 mil for next 5 years (probably unlikely)

Dallas:
Brendan Haywood - 7-10 mil for next 4 years
+ Shawn Marion - 8-9 mil for next 3 years

Detroit:
Ben Gordon - 11-13 mil next 3 years
+ Charlie V - 7.5-8.5 for next 3 years

Bucks (MAJOR pipe dream)
Bogut - 12-14 mil for 3 years
+ Gooden - 6.6 mil for next 4 years

Philly
Elton Brand - 17-18 mil for 2 years

Washington
Rashard Lewis - 22-23 mil for 2 years
+ A young player they are willing to throw away

pipe dreams?  more like nightmares.  why would we want any of those deals.  none of them make us appreciably better to justify losing cap room for at least 2 years.

no way Danny is bringing back Perk.  especially not for 2 guys that have difficulty justifying court time right now.

Perk:
6.7 pts/5.3 rebs/3.7 pf in 27 min/gm

JO:
2.7 pts/3.0 rebs/4.3 pf in 20 min/gm

Do we really want either?

Perk isn't that good.  He is not the answer to our problem (although clearly JO isn't either).

Yes, I would want him back.  I know it is not going to happen, but I would want him back.

KG made Perk what he is or was. He doesn't dominate like he did under the C's, but he still is a nice player to have under the boards, and NO way would OKC do that trade, they get nothing really.

Im not sure why people are jumping to trade JO so fast. He offense hasn't been good, but he also hasn't been able to play with the lame fouls he's been getting in the beginning of the game. But the D has been good. I know people are worried about injury, but they were like that with Grant Hill before he got the right surgery and now look at him. People forget he was trying to rehab an injury instead of an operation. Thats why he was out for so ling DA talked him into it. So until he does go down Im hoping his offense returns and the refs show some respect.

Same with KG. Im just hoping his legs arn't there yet. We still forget we are still kinda in preseason.
