Just by having LeBron James, they're all but guaranteed to win 50 games. Add in Wade and they are a clear cut top 3 team. The unfortunate thing for everyone else is that they also have Bosh and a group of solid role players. Once they learn how to beat the zone, which will happen, they're going to be the obvious favorite in any game they play.

they already are the obvious favorite in any game they play.

Fair. I guess I should have said an even more obvious favorite.

Being obvious favorites in any game they play didn't put any rings on their fingers last year.

The 1996 Bulls didn't go undefeated, either.

But the Bulls did get rings. People are acting like the Heat are the 1996 Bulls, I don't think that's the case.

Guess we won't know 'till the end of the season, huh?

I don't think the Heat are THAT good (96 Bulls good), but that doesn't change that they should be considered the favorites in every game they play.  They're the most talented team in the league.

Recognizing that a team is the favorite doesn't mean guaranteeing they'll win and nobody else has a chance.  Just that on paper, they have the clear best chance.

Well, we already know that having LeBron and Wade and Bosh doesn't mean that you'll win despite everyone's rush to ordain them.

I agree.  So far the Heat are definitely the "paper champions," just like they were last year.

We actually DID slow them down. They only won due to a freak breakout game from a rookie. Cole won't put numbers up like that every game. The Heat have looked pretty awful late in games, even though they got the wins. Not that they shouldn't be a favorite, but they really look like a team that could run out of steam.

You mean the Heat look awful at the end of games after they take their foot off the gas because they have built 20+ point leads.

Charlotte vs Heat, Heat out FT'd Charlotte 28-16.

I doubt there in that many close games where they even need a closer.

But if they are allowed to get away with this then yes.
