I think JO looked really bad against Miami because he is just a terrible matchup against them : he is so slow and they are so quick that, well, he looks totally... cooked.
With that said, he did look good about a team not as fast as the Heat, like the Knicks, so I will hold my judgment until I see how he does against "normal"-paced teams.
agreed on that. i think Miami is just too fast paced for JO. but he was decent during the Knicks game.
i kept on saying this and i will keep on. JO must be included as an option in the offense.
they are playing him like Perk, which all it does is sets screens and play defense in the other end. he needs to do a better job defensively, im not letting him off the hook on that. but give the man some low post touches and pick and pop plays. he's a decent mid range shooter and has post moves. does he still have his explosiveness in the post, of course not. but one or two successful post plays with him would build his confidence and will make him play a little more better.
give the man the ball in the low post once in a while and let him work. right now he looks to be done, but i'm holding my judgement until such time i see him be part of the offense other than "just the guy who sets screens." incorporate him in the offense. the dude knows how to play down low, he's not Perk. let him do what he can. if he stinks up the joint then that's it. but cmon JO you gotta do better than that on the defense.
