another game where we're down at halftime, and we come back with a rally... The whole zone defense....etc.
best coach in the game.
Well at least he's a winner at losing. The game was hardly in question. Miami closed it down the last 5 and we helped with 3 turnovers and some bad shots. The core of the team is worn out. The mind is willing but the flesh weak. Rondo won't last long with these +40 minute games. Been around too long to see these big come backs as being anything meaningful but loses. 0/2
The game was CERTAINLY in question. If 2 of those 4 bad calls go our way we are up by 2 points in many situations.
You're saying the core of the team is worn out after 2 regular season games? Seriously? Why don't you press the doomsday button right now.
The reason he kept them in was to prove to themselves that they can beat Miami. It also plants a seed in Miami's minds that the Celtics can still beat them and that they know what to do to beat them- the zone. This is without our best scorer and captain, and without our backup center.
Do you really think that Doc is going to play Rondo for 40-45 minutes a night? We've played two of our toughest competitors in the East in our first two games, and after horrible starts and hot shooting from our opponents, we've shown our defensive tenacity and come back to almost win. We could be up 2-0 now if we had some help from the refs in tough spots. And if we'd won both these close games it would definitely be worth it right?
Please use some logic before panicking in despair:
*No Pierce, we now have Pietrus
*No Wilcox
*Huge comebacks vs two of the best teams in the league.
*Rondo is playing GREAT.Bass is playing great.
*Extremely questionable refereeing leading to major disadvantages in both games.
*We now know exactly what to do against the Heat.ZONE.
*We have played only 2 games. We aren't 15 games in and the starters are all exhausted.
